Back in 2009, Coyu teamed up with Edu Imbernon to release 'El Baile Aleman' and it went on to become the most sold track on Beatport that year. Skip to 2015 and we've got a shiny set of remixes to accompany the club-smasher.

Subb-An has put his spin on the record but today we focus on Patrick Topping's edit and the Hot Creations bright spark has taken no prisoners this time round.

His edit is fiercer than the original and far techier. It's got mechanical bleeps, beautifully filtered sections and basslines so thick you'd need an axe to cut through them.

We heard a while back that legendary NYC DJ-producer Erick Morillo was gearing up to relaunch his iconic label Subliminal, and we were delighted to know that one of house music's longstanding pioneers was going to be back at it and giving the new generation of clubbers a sense of how it was done.

We've snagged the premiere of the label's second release 'Something For Carl Cox', a high octane, old school techno weapon, which is due to be released on July 27.

And now for The Tale Of Michael Rosa...

We'd been huge fans of Michael's productions so we knew he would be the perfect fit to play a dark and deep tech set late night at our Desert Hearts Spring Festival 2014. The festival took place during the last weekend in April in the high desert, so all our hopes were going towards the weather not being too hot. Michael, assuming we were a San Diego based festival, packed accordingly thinking he was spending his weekend in the most beautiful city in the country... As luck would have it, the weather gods decided to royally fuck with us and it snowed on Friday night during the festival.  Michael, coming from Miami, packed little more than shorts and a T-shirt to get him through the weekend. Not only was this Michael's first Desert Hearts, but it was also his first California Style outdoor festival. Needless to say, Michael got the ever-loving shit kicked out of him that weekend, mentally and physically. We did our best to take care of him but he was a goner... 

The next time we heard from him, he came back to us with a super psychedelic Hunter S Thompson inspired EP and told us that Desert Hearts was a huge awakening for him. 72 hours of non-stop House, Techno, & Love tends to have that effect on people. It takes you to the brink of sanity and tests you mentally and physically just as it did to Michael.  The EP he sent us was completely inspired by his experience at Desert Hearts and it's absolutely brilliant. We snatched it up right away and sent it off to a few of our favorite Desert Hearts veterans for remixes.

So that's the story of Michael Rosa. The Ultimate G who had no idea what he was getting into and got his ass kicked by Desert Hearts. This is Michael's redemption and we couldn't be more proud of the kid.

Auden’s third EP sees the shadowy producer stride familiar lengths of eclecticism while dipping into fresh sources of inspiration.
The title track yearns for the glory days of UK Rave with its sunrise chords overlaying broken beats and drops of acid. The homage is all but shorn on Alan Fitzpatrick’s remix as he contemporises it into a techno bomb with a breakdown to remember. Flexing typical versatility, ‘Simmer Down’ provides the counterpoint with rolls, bounces and jacks in equal measure while ‘Sewer System’ rounds off the EP in a blissed-out discordant ambience.

Detroit’s KING CHEETAH is here with his debut 12” for Light Body Works.  Growing up in the haze of late 90s Detroit record shopping brought about the inspiration for this record.

“I wanted to capture that moment when you put the needle down on that record that gave you goosebumps, the find you were looking for… you only hear 2 seconds and you know its for you”

King Cheetah finds the appropriate space in between sounds and harmonies, rather than all the focus on the actual sounds, all while exercising a subtle rhythmic action that can be heard down the block.
