To help us celebrate the end of this season I contacted the DJ that has influenced & inspired myself and many others on our journey through HOUSE music. He has released originals and remixes on labels like Maya Records, Moulton Music, Desert Hearts Records just to name a few. He's been killin' it on the decks since the late 80's with his brilliant track selecting and fearless mixing style. I could probably go on and on, but I'll let the show do the talking haha. Mark Farina is a disc jockey and musician, known for his Chicago house, acid jazz and downtempo works. Notable releases include Mood (KMS Records, 1989) and the Mushroom Jazz series (Om Records, 1996–2011), and recently known also from house compilations El Divinio. He is primarily identified with the house music scene in San Francisco, California. Farina resides in Dallas, Texas, but DJs widely around the world

Jackies Music House Session #029 - "Mark Farina"

Kinky Movement, formed in 1997 by friends in Nottingham passionate about house music, began hosting events at venues like the Sky Club (later Blueprint), The Bomb, Dubble Bubble, and The Edge. Members Andrew McLoughlin, Lee Eden, and John Symms transitioned into music production, releasing their first track in 2004 on Tango Records. Since then, they’ve produced over 300 tracks and remixes across more than 50 labels, including Salted Music, Large Music, Swing City, Drop Music, King Street, Jalapeño, and Erase. Their extensive discography has led to performances in over 20 countries, including Australia, the US, New Zealand, Russia, South Africa, Bulgaria, Belgium, Georgia, and Ukraine. Their music has been licensed to Armada Music and Hed Kandi compilations and featured on BBC Radio 1 Extra by Monki. With new releases planned for 2025 on their label Replay Recordings and others, Kinky Movement continues to thrive in the house music scene.
