Heart Reset - Black Stars, White Nights

First discovered through file-sharing sites in 2004, the folder labeled “NORMANRemo_S2069” contained three .wav files and a .txt file that said only one thing: “DON’T EVEN ASK” Discovering more about Remo became the cause-célèbre for some in the online community - one blogger going so far as to offer a £10,000 reward for credible information about Remo’s true identity. 

Those who took Remo’s .txt message as a cryptic warning to stay away were no longer called paranoid when blogger Corbin Macgregor, founder of the influential, now defunct blog “Strictly Slo-Wave...and more!” was found dead with shattered CD-R fragments lodged in his eyes, ears and esophagus after claiming to have discovered the “incredibly, incredibly mind-blowing truth” behind Remo’s identity. The murder was eventually ruled an elaborate suicide but some still maintain that someone - or something – calling itself Norman Remo was the true cause. 

Soon after the murder, copies of the original folder began circulating online again, but with different .txt messages, ranging from unintelligible strings of letters, numbers and symbols, to baking recipes, to vague, chilling threats of a dark supernatural nature. Remo’s existence has never been conclusively disproved, but telling fact from fiction has only gotten harder as the rumor mill churns endlessly online in the absence of the police’s investigation files, which have never been made public.
