Microcosmos Records announces Step of Yours Is Forever Light by Dva Dereva.

Dva Dereva is a duet from Kropyvnytskyi (Ukraine). It consists of Nadezhda Makarova (vocals), Artem Cherchynskyi (synthesizers, flutes: duduk, native American flute, bansuri). The project performs meditative acoustic and electronic music using a wide range of ethnic instruments.

Step of Yours Is Forever Light is a wonderful blend of electronic drone and the sensual vocals of Nadezhda Makarova, which combine the album’s tracks into a single concept. Ethnic instrument improvisations performed by Artem Cherchynskyi add natural vibes to the soundscapes, and the field recordings expand the feeling of a full immersion into the natural, earthly mood of the album.

The deep, consistent sound of synthesizers combined with the melodic vocals and woodwind instruments gives a dramatic feel, and makes us reflect on what the future has for us. The conceptual idea of Step of Yours Is Forever Light turns to eternal values of love and kindness. It makes the listener discover the inner light that can dispel the external darkness.

A deeper and slightly slower mix than my usual antics to fit with the beautiful and groovy pace of a Saturday Sunset at the mighty Suti Festival in Central Portugal... Starting with Groovy sounds of the Jungle before heading into Majestic Asia where we stumble across a circus that uses psychedelics to hypnotise us .. We are quickly lead out of the back door into a world of entrancing drums and gritty grooves before we step out and find we're kind of back where we started... but it all feels a bit...erm... different ;)
