Exhibits Vol. 3 is here to kick off the summer with a punch. Couldn’t be more proud of all these artists for delivering quite literally some of our favorite music ever.   

Kicking things off is ‘Need Your Love’, a long awaited ID from South Korean producer Blosso’s new tech house project, DEMIXL. This one has been a staple in Vibrancy sets since we first heard it months back.

The action keeps going with a crazy collab between Cloverdale & his Russian twin, Slatin. A bass driven banger from Italian duo, AGLF. A big high octane techy driver from Luxo. A dark and groovy number from South Africans Bass Odyssey & Luke Lambert. And capping it off with a track from two of Western Canada’s most notorious groove dealers, Reezy & LNDN.  

We’ve paired with multimedia artist, projection specialist and stage designer, WASKO for this release. He’s responsible for some of Eastern Canada's most impressive live set ups and a proud member of the Electronic Music community in the area.

Green Tree is here and he's here to stay. Like a bad smell some would say, but a smell you can't help but sniff. Its like parmesan. Absolutely delicious but kinda on the nose.

Well today he has dropped a whopper with cheese with Puppet On A String. A moody late night record with a mysterious vocal sets the tone for this one around a bumpy bassline and housey beat. Really vibing the feel of this one, we don't get too emotional here at BOC, but this one got us feeling a bit fuzzy.

What? Giant again! haha yes! We are loving his vibe and he's on this remix with some vibes club energy. Great use of the original sounds and a rolling bass really make this one a proper peaker. But keep those eyes peeled for our man Advent who's flying through the gates with his addition to the pack. Chunky and cheeky and clean. This has BOC written all over it!

Today we celebrate our 100th release. That’s right, 100!

100 releases by 191 separate artists, adding up to almost two straight days of beats – and all of this grew from a little Facebook chat between friends…

In 2016, over a warm glass of milk and a bowl of dry biscuits, a collection of warped individuals put their heads together to create an outlet for the house music they so admired. Not just any old house music though, oh no… The idea was to create a magical record label that would serve as a home for the weirder offshoots of traditional house music – the cheeky, bass-heavy, rolling, glitchy, buzzy and wacky house music. And just like that, after at least 7 minutes of intense deliberation, Box of Cats was born.

Through the process of all of this, Box of Cats has got to know almost 200 artists - artists we consider as our extended family. We have always prided ourselves on teaming up with artists of any size, as long as we get the chance to showcase world class house music on our label.

To celebrate this milestone the label heads have collaborated, forming a new boy-band called the PAVEMENT SPECIAL. The new name is South African slang for a 'mixed-breed cat'. Kinda fitting when we all live in different countries yet come together under the same umbrella of house music.

Bringing in the warm bass of Kyle Watson, the vocal chops of Jeff Doubleu and the wonky synths of Wongo, 'Gotta Get Away' is built on inspiration from what it's been like to run this label over the past 4 years. This track is classic BOC, and throws back to the roots of what we as individuals love about this genre.

We’re overwhelmed and elated at the same time, and want to thank EVERYONE for what you have helped us create. Not only a platform, but a community, a friendship, and an era that for us will go down as one of the most important things we’ve done in our lives.

BOC100 - Pavement Special - Gotta Get Away

The Kino Village team is honored to announce the duo of @BassOdyssey’s debut on the label with their pumping new EP “OWF”. The first song off the EP, which is under the same name, is a mixture of dark pumping bass and catchy vocals that will keep you on the dance floor til the late night as the Kino sound always does. 

The second track off of Bass Odyssey's debut on Kino Village is another pumping late night, epic saga of a track with buzzing low-end and addictive synths that will keep the entire party glued to the speakers. 

The last song off of the EP is a mean DnB remix of “OWF." This track gives it entirely new spin as it takes this dark house track deep into the Drum & Bass atmosphere.
