Kiosek Records is a Prague-based breakbeat (not exclusively) label headed by the DJs Saku and Line Of Sight. 
The label has just finalised a multi-year process of generating some fresh material. It is spearheaded by the single Voyager by Line of Sight, a Bulgarian producer living in Prague. The dark cinematic break drifts through space as the label’s flagship. 
The Prague-based producer Grove, having recently scored big with a great iBreaks single, added some dancy feel while preserving the original’s terse atmosphere. 
And another well known Praguer named Sonority has created a throbbing progressive house track using even some light-hearted melody.

Line of Sight - Voyager (Original Mix)

The second episode of Kiosek Records’ new season hasn't returned from space (neither did its predecessor, the Voyager). Deep Moon Thing was created by the DJ/producer duo Disladis, based in Prague, and Ireland's Gaex who also adds mastering to his skill set. The sound of their throbbing tech house track makes you believe you've heaved your PA system to the surface of the moon and dance while watching the Earth from afar. On the flip side there’s a breakbeat remix by the great British producer Rcaine that sounds as if a giant meteorite had just crashed your moon party, giving your space suit some mighty vibration in the process.

Deep Moon Thing (Rcaine Remix)

The single “Fear The Reaper” was assigned the 007 catalogue number, rich in symbolic value. It's a cinematic piece, dubbed „the drama break“ by the Kiosek Records bunch. The original mix by the Bulgarian project Mr Jackdaw & Dave Valley gives so much drama to the beginning of the DJ set it makes the dancers ask existential questions. The remix was done by our mastering maestro Gargle & Expel who, while fortifying the beats to focus on the rhythm side of the track, found the answer to the question whether to be or not to be.

Mr Jackdaw & Dave Valley - Fear The Reaper (Gargle & Expel Remix)

Sonority "could be normal". But his gift to find a groove unlike any other is far from ordinary. In one track he wrings emotions out of you better than drowning Leo and Kate, and in another one he boldly goes so deep in space where not even Starship Enterprise has gone before. His past releases on Traum Schallplatten, Liquid Records and Rune Recordings are a testament to that. 
This EP on Kiosek Records brings you club mixes of three tracks that Sonority plans to include on his album, up for release later this year on Distinctive Records. And all three work great on the dancefloor. Remixes are courtesy of Prague-based producers Turtlesquad, Jock The Lock and Revize. We will surely hear more about their talents in the future, including through Kiosek. 
Sonority himself prefers his food raw. Maybe that’s why his music is so fresh. Bon appétit.

Sonority - Could Be Normal (Turtlesquad Remix)

Music by Czech producer Roocza may not be setting dance floors on fire, but it does bring joy. It emanates emotions naturally, and while we say that it is joyful, its intensity could instantly make you weep as well. Remixes are courtesy of Kiosek Records' own: DNCH crafted an outstanding progressive breaks track that will, for one, work great in a club setting; and Panda worked his magic to warp the emotions of the original into a somewhat broken house track. This is the most romantic release on Kiosek yet, because although it may not be immediately obvious, we also have a heart!

Roocza - Clarence The Nebulist (DNCH Remix)

If the dead could dance, they would kick off the party with this joint imprint by Rcaine and Karl Sav. An epic opening dissolves the mist to fill the space with a haunting foreboding of things to come... The drop puts everything out of focus again, turning reality into a hazy abstract painting of a thick wet fog on the coast, only to leave you standing breathless in the middle of the dancefloor when the epic journey is over. With this track wrapping up their party, it would be clear that even the dead can dance.
This collaboration by Rcaine and Karl Sav, called Haar, is the first in the Collabs series that features joint tracks by producers linked to the Kiosek label.

There must be something about New Zealand. How else can you explain that so much great music is created there? It gives birth to a sound that merges the purity of nature with modern technologies to form a new structure. Eartheogen is a producer who feels right at home in these structures. Just look at the definition of Eudemony, the title of his offering on Kiosek Records: “Happiness as understood by Aristotle, namely, as consisting... in virtuous activity, of which the highest and best kind is that which is self-controlled through reason, the virtuous activity of the soul in a completed life.” Say no more.
The remix by Kiosek’s own DNCH preserves the New Zealand feeling, but breaks up the track magnificently. This, my friends, is contemporary nuskool breaks!

Eartheogen - Eudemony (DNCH Remix)

DNCH (Danchez) brought a breakbeat Golem to life. A creature woven from beats and a bassline that watches over its master while he preaches the right sound and wonders the dark alleyways of music software. Anyone who's ever been to Prague knows the tale: the 16th century rabbi Loew brought a clay man to life by putting a shem with a magic formula under his tongue. The Golem worked tirelessly all week, his forces only getting stronger. The rabbi had to put a new shem under his tongue every Friday night, so he could relax for the rest of the weekend. Otherwise he would have gone mad. A history worth noting!
Ben Coda brought to life Golem's brother. His techno remix of DNCH's track Forced is a marvelous bass creature that marches steadily on and on, and not a wall can stop it. www.kiosekrecords.com

Seven Czech producers and their seven remixes. 3ska, a member of the Kiosek family, joined forces some time ago with VOJ, a talented singer, and they created some emotional music together. Their Inspire EP was released on Bandcamp last November and it takes emotions head-on. Just the way it should be in the autumn. 3ska himself then picked producers to remix the tracks. Turtlesquad, DNCH, Misology, Tekstrue, Smeti, Real Transported Man as well as the author of the originals each found their own way of taking on the tracks. And we are happy to showcase their work now on Kiosek Records. Because they are all seven ways to live...

Music has always been a reflection of what is going on in our lives. It has always reacted to what is happening in the society and politics. Some of the best music has been made in the worst of times. And 2017 very much feels like the worst of times.
Rigged elections, rise of the far right, the threat of nuclear war.
Corporations, the new “Monster", having more power than governments.
Celebrity politicians ruling over their “Empires” built on fabrication and crafty social media presence.
You voted for this.
Distracted by branding and consuming, our lives have become so apathetic and so anxious that we embraced technology as an escape.
We all got our little handheld devices that offered us white noise, a Pandora's box of entertainment. So engrossing that none of us can look up and see the world around us.
The promise was that social media would set us free. Instead, the powers that be quickly realised that they can use this technology to increase control.
Now we live our lives under constant surveillance and paranoia.
Hooked on our new distraction, trapped in an echo chamber of our own lives, social media showed us only what we want to see based on our browsing habits.
Now we have fake news, Brexit, Trump. Now we have a society of "Cool Kids", intent on being famous for nothing. The stars of their own reality show. Their lives are in the public domain - good and bad, nothing is taboo as long as it gets hits.
All of this white noise distracting us from the world going to shit, as we consume the next thing, so that we fit into society.

Unfollow is saying you can’t ignore this anymore.

It is not a movement or a club. There is no charter, no manifest.

Robosapiens, Derren N - Ghosts In The Machine (Original Mix)

Robosapiens might have killed all the cool kids "cos they didn't have respect and cos they had all the sex", but they are now still coming back. Nine months after Robosapiens' second album, Unfollow, we are releasing the opening track as a single. With lyrics and vocals by Jack Martin, singer for the band Fewels, Cool Kids is an ironic take on the feeling of not fitting in, but also not wanting to fit in. I mean, who would want to fit in with posers in designer clothes taking selfies? Jamie of Robosapiens and Jack wrote the track after a particularly horrifying experience in a Bristol club.
Two remixes then give Cool Kids a new flavour: one by DNCH, Kiosek Records' own techfunk master whose track Golem brought the Kiosek roof down two years ago, and the other by Jamie and his friend Derren aka Electric Mayhem who built a dense techno monolith (shh - stay tuned for more of their work on Kiosek soon). And as a bonus, you also get an exclusive track, De Activate. Prime example of breakbeat at its best.

Storyline: Ap3x comes to the kitchen, puts some finely chopped techno into a pot and heats it until it sizzles. He adds a good measure of techfunk and stirs in some psytrance sauce. When it's boiled he sprinkles it with a few samples from a cult film. He pours the pot into a player, takes a spoon and starts dancing.
A few minutes later, neighbours ring the bell. The Robosapienses are fond of broken beats. They add in a bit more techfunk spice and thicken the sauce.
They start dancing the cutlery dance. The house is dancing, the city is dancing...

Storyline: One night, in a feverish dream, Emphonic found himself in an enchanted Mexican forest. The trees, rocks and mist suddenly turned into bizarre animals. A bright green lion with wings, yellow monkey with horns, red rabbit with frog's legs... all of them piercing him with bulging eyes and chanting one strange word, "Alebrije". When he woke up, he recreated the fantastical creatures in music. The track, brimming with magical energy yet fragile as if built from papier-mâché, now appears on Kiosek. And to add another dimension to the sensorial experience, Emphonic sprayed the flip side with some atmospheric parfume.

The forest has revealed another surprise: following up on Grove's single last week, Kiosek is now proud to release his collaboration with another Prague legend, Brada. Years ago, the two forest lovers worked together under the Los Dodos moniker. Now they are back to bring you another atmospheric treasure.

To the right, if you are on the Northern hemisphere, and to the left on the other. That's because the Earth is spinning. And what if it's your body that is spinning, and your head moves too?
Georgi aka Line of Sight, one of the two Kiosek Records founders, is going to tell us. After a short break to tame new analogue machines in his studio as well as his new cat, Poki, he is now back in (Coriolis) force. The two track on this release are first in a series planned for 2020: a progressive techno monster called the Coriolis Effect, and Objects in Motion, a slower sci-fi breakbeat track. And it may just be that the track names pay homage to the wild moves of Poki the cat during recording.

Get Down is a vocal break, a bit of an earworm that you will keep humming the next day. Trust us, we've been through it. Replicant is a worthy follow-up to Alebrije, Emphonic's first release on Kiosek and a prime example of the sound that makes him so special. The title track, Midnight Snack, is a hypnotic 4/4 club affair. And the closing track of the EP, Sabiani's remix of Get Down, savours the groove of the original but gives it a classic DJ treatment. Just get in the red Fiat Cinquecento and let us take you straight to a feast in the middle of the night!

3ska is a bit of an apocalypse expert. The Prague-based producer recently released his track "Fallout" on Kiosek, invoking a post-meltdown world. Then, some weeks ago, he sent a cheerful leitmotif to us. But then the coronavirus lockdown came, and in a matter of weeks, the light-hearted tune turned into a fat, intense track that will make you dance out of reality.
Beat The Virus. The title is not just linked to the pandemic. Throughout the crisis, Prague streetware shop / bar NeverEnough Ltd. ran a series of webstreamed DJ sets under the same name, Beat The Virus. But these friends of ours have not only served music, but also produced face masks and disinfectant.
