@orpheuthewizard is one of the many jewels in the Amsterdam scene, as well as being a regular with us here at Dekmantel. He's one of those DJs who was born for the backroom, a place where his curveballs and oddities make for subversive soundtracks that span sounds and scenes from across the decades. For that reason, he is an ever-popular guest on stations like NTS and can either cast you adrift in the cosmos or lock you in with a cold wave beat. 

He's in a club-ready mood on this week's mix and it's one that proves exactly why they call him Orpheu The Wizard: it's a journeying selection of intergalactic tracks that bang and bounce in many different ways. "The concept for this mix was to recreate the types of sets that I've been playing recently in small intimate nightclubs from 5am onwards. The types of places where the only purpose is to get your head down and dance. It's kind of tripped out, deep and skippy. I feel as a DJ I have many avenues I go down but this is undoubtedly my absolute favourite flavour to play.

Hardly a newcomer, Amsterdam-based producer and DJ, @eversines, has been working on the scene’s periphery for more than a decade. As a co-organiser of Dutch label @delichting, he has truly immersed himself within music, garnering his own sound with a kinetic verve and dream-like quality.
In 2019, the artist saw his first debut release with @wexrecords, followed by a solo EP and an LP in collaboration with theremin player, @carolinaeyck, on @ye_yeh. More recently, he has teamed up with @kalaharioystercult to deliver ‘Plooi’.

In true Eversines form, Patterns of Perception 73 is a diverse compilation, comprised solely of the artist’s own music. Weaving his house-leaning productions with lucid, down-tempo beats, this mix conjures a longing for those beloved after hour moments, which for now, are safely guarded by our memories.
