Today is the birthday of Sveta Pavlova, @Svetiritm 🌸🌸🌸
and we’re celebrating with something special: her new mix.
Sveta is a DJ and musician from Saint Petersburg. She’s performed at festivals like Akhola, Signal and Zakatnaya and curates the imprint party series.
A year ago she released an EP on the Swiss label Wäehlscheibe and since then she's been steadily active, playing across the local scene and contributing mixes to communities around the world.
Her sound blends dub, dub techno, acid, house, ghetto tech, hypnotic and tribal techno.
This mix floats in hazy dub layers, balancing softness and raw rhythm –immersive, grounded and subtly trippy.

Invisible wire – Svetiritm 01/05/25

this mix is a tribute to overdub- a greek fanzine from the late 90’s  and early 00’s. 
Just before Internet was fully commercialised, the creatures of the underground scene could find it in specific comic, record and book stores and dig into the local and international experimentations of the time.  

All tracks come from artists that are briefly or more thoroughly mentioned on different issues of overdub. Christos Karras,  the music aficionado and editor in chief of the fanzine, initially had to send via post, introduction letters  to artists he admired, and receive tracks on cd or tape, months later, for a music compilation that he curated for every issue. Later on, email took over, Napster took over, and gradually overdub lost its precious meaning…Hopefully for some more than a few, independent music still matters. Special thanks to Aggelos Baltas for revealing to me this hidden gem.

Brussels-based DJ and composer Casper specialises in thoughtfully blending Bass, IDM, Techno and Breaks with a focus on building a long-term relationship with the crowd. Casper’s obscure and bold selection of avant-garde tastes have a unique way of careening into other styles while remaining resolutely focused, but not restricted to, just the club. In 2025, Casper has launched her 1st show and event series called Ghost club. It's an irony on the death of the club music which is no longer there. For empathic and curious.

I'm Vague Imaginaires, and even though I've recently become a father, my utopic club desire is still alive – just tinged now with a touch of nostalgia. This mix is an invitation to revive that desire, drawn from the unconscious limb of teenage projection and dance. It includes two remixes I'm particularly proud of and genuinely thrilled to have been asked to do: one will be released digitally on 12th Isle as part of Pike and Material Things' upcoming album, and the other will come out a bit later on Special Species Records for the artist Bohdan. I hope it carries you gently onto the dancefloor.
