Chambers of Reflection #59 w/ Michael Satter at Radio 80000 • 19.09.2023

A dive into some of the work of special sound unit, the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, which my dad was a member of during the late 60s and early 70s. 

Alongside music from some of its members I had a lovely chat with Dick Mills, one of my dad’s friends and colleagues who is the longest standing member of the Workshop, having joined in 1958 when it opened.

@not-even-noticed's sound emerges straight from the underground scenes of Frankfurt and Halle/Leipzig! With their fast and driving breakbeats, they skillfully blend old-school elements with fresh ideas, samples, and unique sonic structures. The project was initiated in 2020 and has already collaborated with notable labels like Craigie Knowes, Holding Hands, Chat Noir Distributions, and many more.

MAENDI’s sound reaches from her oldschool RnB knowledge to dubstep, drum n’ bass and experimental stuff, while ranging between cheesy and dark. Her sets are always a surprise, breaking styles, unwilling to commit to a specific genre or sound. Now based in Cologne, she is a substantial part of Radio 80000, a project and ongoing community work that meanwhile influences the scene of electronic and non-electronic music far beyond Munich. For her visit at kiosk she is bringing current gems from her oldschool RnB and Hip Hop collection.
