Recently featured on Nose Job with his 'Synthetic Nature' debut-album, Brussels' own Tonito Yama (aka Antoine 80) joins today our guestmix series in style. Born out of the desire to loose track between synthetic and natural, real and virtual, analog and digital, the tape is obviously inspired by the mid-90s' documentary 'Synthetic Pleasures', which explored the twists and turns of the revolutionary-then digital world.

Deep pulses, dripping trip-hop, cutting-edge psybient, alienating dub codes raining on cathode-ray tube screens... The TodoRecto label co-honcho recorded for us a two-hour podcast filled with his influences, the documentary's BO, a couple tracks from his LP and tribute to 90s'bient lords such as Biosphere, FSOL, Meat Beat Manifesto... Episode number 52 is "hard-boiled" by an outstanding artist from the medieval city of Utrecht -  Tala Drum Corps. Being a creator in the field of audio and interaction design Tijmen combines many musical incarnations, including but not limited to his own tape experiments and the building of dub sirens and curation of Stranded FM. In his music and mixes, he gravitates more towards a chthonic palette including spooky dub, captivating and otherworldly percussions, mumblecore illbient, hypnotizing mermaid trance, mnemonic electro, Arrakis kraut and who knows what else! This mix was no exception, which makes me very happy as the curator of De Kat Memwa series! After listening to the mix for the first time, I was naturally sweating from the buzz!

I have been a long-time fan of the work of Tala Drum Corps, but for some reason, I was too shy to write for some time. When I finally overcame my shyness, we were very quickly able to meet in real life and hold an amazing joint dance event in Malmö. In short, it is a great happiness to find new friends and like-minded people through music!

Dutch native Jouko hosts monthly radio shows for Mutant Radio [Inner Overtones] and Echobox Radio [Circus Underwater], previously Red Light Radio. 
He doesn't like thinking in boxes too much, enjoys transitions that seem to fall into ruin, occasionally pushes wax at Red Light Records and sucks in writing XL-bio's involving himself. 
Hence the reason why this text isn't as lenghty as the musical manoeuvre itself. 
There's no need to actually spell kleptomania backwards, because it takes quite a while when you find it hard to read in opposite direction like Jouko, plus there is probably more important stuff going on in life while making an attempt.
