Cosmic Simmering is a very personal new album of unreleased material from Chris Gray on Saft. The 13 track album has been composed of previously lost archives, restored DAT tapes and old CDs and it plots the musical evolution of one of house music's most underrated artists.

Gray has been producing since the mid-nineties, and in that time has crafted some seminal moments in deep house. He's landed on a range of labels, but most often Saft or his own Deep4Life. He has put out seven superb long players that explore a rich palette of moods and grooves, and this latest is another adventurous collection that travels far and wide into rhythm and sound. 

Work on this album started in March 2020 when Chris started digging around in his archives. Some of what he found was sketched in the late 80s, while other tracks were written a few months after Chris moved to Chicago and was living in his uncle's south side attic in early 1993. There are also some cuts from 1995 onwards which have been salvaged from deteriorating DAT tapes after a friend of Chris fixed his player. There is also a selection of early 2000s deep4life material taken from 20-year-old backups on cheap CDs, all brought back to life for this record.

Cosmic Simmering is a beautifully widescreen album that works equally on mind, body and spirit.

Jauge is the musical output for George Stockton. He has been producing and playing a variety of his sounds and others, since 2010. 

His first release was 'Be Free' on Bad Panda Records in 2012 and a second named 'Gather' in 2015. That year he also released 'Soon' on MTA records. He has remixed the likes of Bodhi, Antenna Happy and Snowpoet.

He continues to work with Cardiff/London based 'Sleep Walk Listen' and was a part of the artist Snowskull's - 'All Great Thoughts Are Conceived By Walking' EP which involved several collaborations with artists across the UK.

Since leaving the UK he has been residing in Hanoi VN where he has released music on the recent label, Magic Box Engine.

There are many ways to describe Byron the Aquarius and his music, whether it be taking to his array of musical influences, locations he’s resided in or his adept multi-instrumentalism, but perhaps the best way to get to the heart of it is the feeling and soulfulness of his output that pulls at our heartstrings on the dance floor like no other. With firm roots in being a trained jazz musician and keyboardist, hip-hop production and a background in arranging and producing, he first got into making house music through working together with producer Kai Alce in Atlanta. Since then, Byron has had his house releases appear on labels like Eglo, Wild Oats and Sound Signature over the years. His sets make waves by traveling through a broad spectrum of 4x4 music that hint towards the different genres that inform him, while still maintaining a cohesive house groove that speak to clubs and headphones universally.

Byron’s “What up doe?” mix for Truants has been inspired by traveling around India which he just toured through for the first time. “That, and just positive vibrations that I want to share to people and new sounds from the artists I listen to like Funkineven, Kyle Hall and Anthony Nicholson. It’s pretty much just a map of music that I've been listening to. Each day I’m growing musically and traveling, these are the sounds and vibrations that keeps the day going for me.” It’s a mix that’s been created with midnight or 6AM vibes in mind, but could work differently depending on the person. “I leave that to the people, if you feel me. All vibrations!”

Frits Wentink, a man of many talents across a multitude of styles. The Netherlands native first burst onto the scene with his first release back in 2012 and from then on has continued to be one of the countries most consistent artists. Frits loves to experiment with warm wobbly synths and we love it too, that partnered with his impeccable dusty grooves is a sure recipe for success, which has lead him to release on some highly established labels such as Heist, Wolf & Shall Not Fade. He’s also the proud head honcho at both Will & Ink and Bobby Donny, two outstanding outlets. An extremely talented and busy man, which is why we are very excited to bring him onto the magazine for a little chat.
