Klasse Wrecks is proud to present Luca Lozano's 4th album, a collection of both previously unreleased and brand new material. Recorded between the years of 2015 and 2022 and in the locations of various studios in Berlin and Sheffield, 'Man Of Science' collates some of the producers most accomplished and interesting work to date.

Choosing to release an album on CD in the current climate of vinyl-fetishistic domination may seem a risky move but longtime followers will know Mr. Lozano was never one to follow trends blindly and chooses to plough his own path whilst the world patiently waits in line for their turn.

The title track from the album opens with sampled words from astrophysicist and planetry scientist Neil Degrasse Tyson and hints at the overarching theme of the album, in an increasingly polarised world Luca Lozano plants his flag firmly in the moondust and stands by his belief solarsystem.

'Man Of Science' opens with 'End of Line 2' a follow up to the original track released on Super Rhythm Trax in 2015. The slow stomp of breakbeats and alien rhythms stride alongside complex layers of Kawai-strings and haunting FX, resulting in a trademark styling of a Lozano track that refuses to be categorised.

Elsewhere the stubborn bounce of 'Celestrial Being' fuses a House feeling with a retro rave aesthetic, culminating in a beautifully orchestrated crescendo that is sure to illuminate the moodiest of listeners.

Tracks like 'Prognosis' show off Lozano's flair and interest in early Progressive House, an irresistably functional groove pair with pianos and stabs Gat Decor would proud of.

The album rounds of with the bonus track 'VIP', which features a sample taken from the Spike Jonze produced documentary 'Whats Up, Fatlip? and is a perfect example of the type of track that lies hidden in one of Lozano's many forgotten hard drives. Defiantly imperfect and with a tongue firmly lodged in cheek, the track gives a glimpse into the producers relentless worth ethic and also a sneak peek into the mountain of music that possibly lies unreleased.

The 10 track CD album comes complete with obi-strip and fold out poster and is limited to 500 copies.

Lyonnais d’adoption, le natif de Guyanne finit par poser ses valises dans le 69 il y a une dizaine d’années après être passé par le merveilleux Nord-Isère (big aux soirées N-I Club). Vous le connaissez peut-être sous son autre alias en binôme avec son pote de lycée : César & Jason. L’histoire commence avec une paire de Vestax et ça scratch dans tous les sens, hip-hop riddin. Une fois les cellules bien défoncées, César veut faire danser. Ses premiers supporters ? Ses potes. Son premier hymne ? “Love Come Down” d’Evelyn Champagne King.

Membre émérite de la team légendaire d’Everybody Trance, Master C-FU aime surprendre son public au fil de ses sets en proposant un large spectre de vibes entre house et techno et tout ce que cela englobe (breakbeat, electro, early trance, acid, UKG). On ne pourra jamais lui reprocher de ne pas chercher à comprendre et satisfaire le crowd au maximum. Le Master est dévoué à nous faire vibrer et danser pour encore, on l’espère, pas mal d’années.

Even though the word “tech-house" can still have a bad clang in some ears (as written in a recent article on Bandcamp), these dudes prove it is the polar opposite.
 
With releases on respected labels like Haws, Tombolo, Be Told Lies, as well as a critically acclaimed EP on the local Echocentric Records; Abdul Raeva have learned how to walk on the thin line between breaksy progressive and minimal. With support from some of the biggest DJs in this sphere, their combination of clubby basslines and more easy-going breakbeat for home listening is nothing short of tipping your hat to. 

With this mix they combine all what has been written above and do it flawlessly. We recommend that you dip this 1h nuggety delight in some hot sauce and garlic mayo.

Ultrasonic sound waves coming from the Ghent perimeter have been intercepted by our Hotbox antennas. Ejecting into orbit for our first Hot Series of the year is none other than the master of the sesh, Session 4000. Traveling to the borders of wacky house and goa trance, Session’s influences are heavily embedded in his psyche. A recent release on Small Hours, a 4-track EP in the pipeline with Locked In and some serious productions with the Hotbox crew shows us there’s no stopping the sesh any time soon.

After having played together at Artistix in Ghent, Session pursued to recapture the night for his entry of our fourth Hot Series. Stomping his way through 55 minutes of murky basslines and uncompromising beats with a happy attitude, Mr 4000 showcases what he likes best. Keep an eye on your sensors, this will not be Session 4000’s last orbit around the Hotbox system.

His next gig is at his own event Naastelkaar on the 21st. A second edition of the event series which brings Rey Colino to Ghent. Don’t miss out.
