q. pls introduce yourself

>I’m Mim from MitamineLab, a contemporary sound archive and curatorial project from Mexico City, also a radio show. I’m an art historian/cultural manager and I currently have two jobs, as a studio manager and as a project manager.

q. is there a story behind the mix? how did it come together?

>I just tried to evoque the sensation of living at Mexico city, pretty eclectic and unpredictable. I truly believe that Mexico City is a land of dream where emotions are always running high.

q. in your opinion, what would be the ideal circumstances to enjoy your mix?

>You can enjoy it wherever and whenever you want, maybe in the morning while drinking a good coffee, or even in a sunny afternoon with the company of a good shot of mezcal.

q. describe a favourite object in your living room...

>Is not an object per se, but I love that my living room has a view to the garden.

q. are you working on any projects right now (music or not music)?

>Yeah, I’m working in some music and my first EP ever. Hope to have something ready soon :)

In debut albums for Warm Winters Ltd and Mappa, Rob Winstone has formed a unique sound that's tinged with a beautifully eerie nostalgia, and traced by delicate, microscopic details.

His 'Somewhere' mix draws on this palette, conjuring a selection of blissed autumnal drone works and spacious meanderings for piano. Harnessing restrained composition, he explores the cavernous depths of sparse minimalism, juxtaposing meditative ambient with disruptive noise, to ultimately accentuate the lustrous melodies that characterize his work.

Connexions Affectives w/ Johnny Power (26.09.23)

In the November show, you will discover two new releases from the Slovakian label, mappa. The first one is a compilation titled "Synthetic Bird Music," featuring songs by Czech sound artists Enchanted Lands and Ursula Sereghy. The second is a track titled "Maze I" by Line Gate. Line Gate returns to the earthy sound of the hurdy-gurdy alongside some deep, crooning voices and embellishes its drones with a performance on a glass cup. Also, in a few days, the album of Slovak visual and sound artist Richard Hronský will be released. With Adela Mede and Line Gate, the work of Richard Hronský represents the best of the Slovak music scene in 2023. Make a note of these releases for your year-end charts.
