Mechanical actions might be seen as the reunion between force and time. With linear time out of the equation, force would stand alone, floating in her own field, her space for eternity. 

Now let's take a body, one single, rigid, solid, human body. With force acting alone like a steamroller, the body would be subjected to a great amount of distortions, its soul and memories transforming into a strange mixture dilated in cyclic never-ending times. Frightening isn’t it ? No beginning nor end, no order, no evolution, only the manifestations of surprise and creation. 

Reminds you a dream ? Well, think about the body. It's a nightmare now.

This week on Select, we have a special set from Ramy Tsuruta, a Japanese-Lebanese selector, producer, and founder of party collective and record label deependofthepool.

Raised experimenting with the analog machines of his father, Tsuruta established a dynamic and unpredictable style, influenced by the sound of cities like Beirut, Budapest, Tokyo and Berlin. 

His select set starts off with a toned-down house beat shimmering amidst atmospheric sounds that feel quite earthly and meditative. It then smoothly transitions into a wholly unique mix of analog sounds, encompassing 80s/90s electro, techno, house and new beat.

In the mix she did for us, every second shows the deep knowledge she has gained since then in regards to selecting the unusual. For Metamorphosen she created an ice-cool mix, where sliding through all kinds of genres and speeds sounds like the most natural thing in the world.
With her project @automagicalley, theories creates spaces to spread alternative forms of live music and art in Bogotá, making this big city an even more diverse and inspirational place for weirdo connoisseurs.
