JKriv keeps his golden 2022 going with a brilliant four track EP on Bali's Pantai People vinyl label which has already wowed with recent top class releases from Austin Ato and Marc Roberts.

Our premier from the EP is Down Slow with it's gorgeous laidback funk edged disco, laser synths and sublime female vocal. It's a track which will sound just as cool beside the pool as it would on the dancefloor.

LV Premier - Down Slow(JKriv Edit) [Pantai People]

Lord Leopard returns with a pumping disco bop accompanied by the gorgeous work of Conal Kelly. The rising disco dance DJ, Lord Leopard, has gathered kudos within the dance community in recent years with BBC Radio 1 spinning 'Quit Moanin' and getting features in Mixmag, alongside playing anything from pool parties to underground techno clubs. 

Conal Kelly seems to be a fantastic fit for Lord Leopard's style, being hailed as taking bedroom pop to a whole new level. His progressive and dreamy sound compliments the disco dance style of Lord Leopard wonderfully and it is clear that this song is destined for the charts. 

With no time to think, the beat begins and you are instantly smiling when you hear it. The pop, disco like keys are immediately stuck in your head and the groove is within you. As the drums and bass arrive you cannot help but move. The walking bass line throughout keeps that groove within you and you simply can't escape. 

As the song builds and builds, enter the 90s style vocals with some immense reverb and beautiful clarity, and  just as you're enjoying them for all they are yet another layer of guitar and percussion arrives to keep your ears busy. You are constantly surprised through this song and that groove is cleverly maintained throughout. The keys and electronic melodies arrive and disappear seamlessly - This song is nothing but sonic satisfaction and is exactly the quality you would expect from these 2 artists.

BON AIME and Nikko had known each other for years from sharing the decks at a hippie-infested yoga studio in LA, but in pure coincidence crossed paths in Tulum during the start of the pandemic. Nikko’s van had stranded in Tulum after a long drive through the U.S - he was stuck on the beach with all of his music gear. So they did the thing any duo of believers would do, and started to organise beach parties for all to attend. 

In the pursuit of freedom, self-expression and most importantly, vibes, their local reputation as premier dealers of funky grooves grew, and they began to play at an assortment of weird and wonderful events, bringing their disco charm everywhere they went. This track was born out of an experiment to produce an edit in one night before a gig. 

While many of their edits haven’t seen the light of day, Evil Ways has been played across Mexico, the USA and even BON AIME's homeland of the Netherlands - finally finding a home in SCR two years later. The young adventurers have many a memory playing this edit, and we hope you can make some more.
