La Otra Band és un col·lectiu d’improvisadors amb base a Barcelona que, des del 2022, organitza La Otra Jam: una sessió oberta i inclusiva dedicada a la improvisació lliure. Aquest espai reuneix músics, ballarins, poetes i artistes visuals, sovint amb la participació de figures destacades de l’escena catalana del jazz i l’avantguarda.

Aquest àlbum debut, enregistrat el 12 de març de 2025, recull el resultat d’una sessió d’un sol dia amb 14 músics sense cap material preescrit. L’enfocament no és el d’un document cru en directe, sinó una reinterpretació creativa del material original: les gravacions s’han utilitzat com a matèria sonora mal·leable, transformada mitjançant l’edició, la producció i el disseny sonor.

El resultat és el que anomenem improvisació produïda: un treball que combina la immediatesa de la improvisació col·lectiva amb la profunditat i la cura pròpies del treball de postproducció.
