'Like Dust on a Mirror's Surface' is a collaborative diptych of long form contemplative drone and is the first pairing of these two artists. The title is inspired by a quote from a book on Zen Buddhist meditation techniques; an allegory for tapping into the deeper stillness within and listening.

C. Worth is an American guitarist with releases on labels like Union Pole, Unread, Gertrude, and Almost Halloween Time. His playing is largely improvisational, emotional, and strongly informed by the role of the recording process itself in shaping the listener's experience.
Recorded several years ago, "Dirge for Beverly Jarosz" contemplates and dramatizes the long-unsolved murder of a young woman, turning over the contours of its circumstances, the weight of its tragedy, and the horror of its ultimate inexplicability.

Kirigirisu Recordings Tour Compilationは、今年10月に行った、キリギリスレコーディング北陸ツアーを記念して作られたミニアルバムです。ツアーに参加した3組のアーティストが、このコンピレーションのために、新たに録音してくれました。

Asunaとの出会いは、私たちがまだロンドンに住んでいた2011年にさかのぼります。Broken Shoulderが日本に来た際に行った、七針でのライブに出演していたのがAsunaでした。彼のパフォーマンスに圧倒されて、日本にもすごくおもしろいアーティストがいるんだな、と興奮したことを覚えています。

その他の短編ズと出会ったのは、2年前。 Broken Shoulderが高円寺の円盤で演奏をした際に共演したのがきっかけです。その晩、初めて聴いた彼女たちの音楽と独特の世界観の虜になった私たち。レーベルを始めるにあたって、最初に声をかけたのが彼女たちでした。

三者三様、全く異なる音楽でありながら、それがうまく連鎖されて、おもしろい化学反応を起こした今回のツアー。このコンピレーションでも、3組を続けて聴くことで生まれる不思議なマジックを感じ取っていただけると思います。収録された楽曲は4曲ですが、35分のミニアルバムになっています。

そして、今後もキリギリスナイトをいろいろな場所で行っていく予定ですので、お楽しみに！

Kirigirisu Recordings Tour Compilation is an unimaginatively named 4 track mini album to celebrate the first one of our trips out of Tokyo with some of our musical friends. I realise that two dates is probably not a tour, but if they’re in different cities that must count for something, mustn’t it? And anyway, this is only part one. There will be further shows in more locations as time allows I hope.
I first met Sonotanotanpenz when I played at Enban with them a couple of years ago. They were great that night and given that I am writing this after our tour has finished, I can confirm that they were great in Toyama and Kanazawa too. The first time I played with Asuna was at Nanahari, before I lived in Japan in November 2011. His show that night was a huge inspiration for me and I was delighted when we got back in touch after we started Kirigirisu. The idea for the tour came from a three-way mutual interest in each others music and we have been thinking about it for a while. I was delighted when it finally came together. I can’t thank Asuna enough for all of his hard work in organising the Toyama and Kanazawa shows. Thank you again for everything!
The idea to make a tour CD came at the last minute, but I’m very happy with how things worked out. Thank you to Sonotanotanpenz and Asuna for providing us with these tracks at short notice. I was delighted with how many CDs we sold at the two dates, but intentionally made too many so we would have some to sell to people who couldn’t make it as I really love the music and the way the songs sit together on this release. I’m really looking forward to parts 2, 3 and 4 which we have already been talking about, as it was a lot of fun to play these shows with these artists. If you would like us to bring the tour to your city, please let us know.

Rock Paper Scissorsは、2016年に行なわれたジャパンツアーの高松公演、TooNiceで録音されました。Bjergaのエレクトロ・アコースティックな曲の雰囲気に、テープやボイスレコーダーのドローンが混ざり合い、混乱したノスタルジアな世界を作り出しています。

Sindre Biergaは、サイケデリックな実験ドローン音楽を、２０年に渡り作り続けています。ヨーロッパでの演奏活動の他に、アルゼンチン、ロシア、ウクライナ、韓国でも演奏を行い、日本でも２回ツアーを行ないました。これまで、世界中のレーベルから３００を超えるレコードをリリースしています。


Rock Paper Scissors, (Jan Ken Pon), was recorded on tour in Japan in 2016 at TooNice in Takamatsu. It is the whole performance and features Bjerga in an electroacoustic sniff'n scratch mode, sometimes drenched in his trademark longform isolationist fields of blankness and dungeon tape drone meditation as well as mangled dictaphone splurge and generally confused nostalgia.
 
Sindre Bjerga has been creating his experimental psychedelic drone and collage based music for over 20 years and has been performing a lot in Europe as well as Argentina, Russia, Ukraine and South Korea and twice in Japan. He has released around 300 records over the years (solo and with other collaborators) on labels all over the world.

Singapore Police Backgroundは、イギリス出身の音楽家、James Wilson (Opt Out) とDan Burwood (Calm!) のコラボレーションです。2人ともソロでの作品を、Moonside Tapesよりリリースしています。アンビアントドローンの間を行ったりきたりするこのアルバムは、テープループ、シンセ、サンプリング、ギター、ピアノを使い、2人で一緒にレコーディングしたものに、各自が別々に音を加えて作成されました。深夜、またはラッシュアワー時の駅でヘッドホンで聴くことをおすすめします。 

Singapore Police Background is a hypnagogic collaboration between UK sound makers James Wilson (Opt Out) and Dan Burwood (Calm!) both of whom have released music on Moonside Tapes. The album oozes around somewhere in the ambient / drone areas and is made from tape loops, synths, samples, guitar and piano, with initial recordings done together and then polished separately. It’s simultaneously soothing and unsettling and seems to inhabit that area halfway between sleep and consciousness. Recommended listening conditions are in late night prone floor based contemplation, or on headphones in a hectic overly lit urban transit hub at rush hour.

Heloctoro by Geeker Natsumi (pronounced Gay-Car Na-Too-Mee)

It's been about 3 years since Geeker Natsumi’s debut "Retire to Refire” was released to celebrate her quitting her previous job.
Her 2nd album is named Heloctro, a sort of portmanteau of “Hero" + "Electro"
A cassette tape containing 10 heroic electro pop songs spun while spending heroic days playing concerts, working and living life.
Includes the live favourite "Mexico Salamander" (track 2), which is about neotenic creatures and axolotl.
Contrary to her live performances based around Casiotone and looped drums, this is a lo-fi motivated work created only using GarageBand and the Macbook’s inbuilt microphone, using almost no Casiotone!

Tu Cara Estirada Por El Extasis - Lorenzo Gomez Oviedo - Bardo Todol

Pablo PiccoとLorenzo Gomez Oviedoは、彼らは同じ場所で生まれましたが、2017年12月に、レコードを交換したり、実験音楽への愛情について少し話すまで、出会うことはありませんでした。

その結果、私たちにFriedrich Hölderlinの表現のコンセプトを想起させると同時に、印象派の雰囲気を感じさせる、素晴らしいアルバムが生まれました。

PabloとLorenzoの二人は、この作品の2つのトラックを編集し、それらをお互いに捧げています。愛すべき二人組です。

ポーランド生まれ、パリ在住のKami Johnによる素晴らしいカバードローイングと、いくつかのパッセージでのNico Piccoの声の、終わることのないことのないエネルギーで彩りを添えた、50部限定の極めて美しいカセット作品です。

Although they were born in the same place, Pablo Picco and Lorenzo Gomez Oviedo never met personally until December 2017 to exchange some discs and talk a little about their love of experimental music.

After that Lorenzo came to visit Pablo in Salsipuedes in Córdoba at the beginning of February 2018 and they both entered their “recording camp”: a nerdy and natural recording jam in the woods that provided the foundations of this tape: Noisy tapes, crying violins, percussive rivers, running shoe marches, distant field recordings, night harmonium screams that made the building blocks of the construction of “Tu cara estirada por el éxtasis”

They later added some secret ingredients into the soup: Lorenzo’s hidden and avant garde pianos and his visionary poetry texts cut up into a surrealistic excursion of words and expressions.

The result is an album that evokes the expressive passages of Friedrich Hölderlin’s concepts and at the same time hits an impressionist stream of lovely vibes.

Pablo and Lorenzo both edited two tracks of the disc and they dedicate them to each other. What a nice pair of guys.

Exquisite cassette edition of 50 with the great cover drawing by Polish born, Paris resident Kami John and the never ending energy of Nico Picco voices in some passages.

Kirigirisu Recordings is a label founded in Tokyo in the Spring of 2014 with the intention of releasing limited edition CDRs of various genres of music by artists from various locations. There is no label sound, the thing that ties the releases together is the enthusiasm of the label founders to present the music to a larger audience and the independent spirit of the musicians. CDRs are presented in handmade sleeves with a common aesthetic theme. The releases will primarily be available for mail order through the label’s bandcamp and through the artists at their shows, but we will also distribute to some selected locations and webshops.
