Two-time boxing champion in the super featherweight division, Rocky Lockridge was the terror of his fistic contemporaries. He wrested the championship from Roger Mayweather--uncle and trainer of today's superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr--with a brutal right hand; and beat the top contenders of his era with two-fisted power and a relentless swarming style of attack. His fall was as meteoric as his rise--parties, drugs, booze, women ... so began the undoing of that specious fabric of which stardom and transient greatness is composed. He ended up drifting away from his family, down from Atlantic City to Camden, Jersey; where he lived homeless, a crack addict, panhandling on the street corners and sleeping rough. Alienated, a time-out-of-mind waif, a refugee of his own past life, his only return to the rarefied heights of his one-time primacy--through the terrible desiderate portal of opiate oblivion. This is a hymn, in the blues mould, to the tortuous trials and heights of a pugilist's dharma.

Kiruu’s first full-length LP, Super Feo Express, is the culmination of 15 years composing, performing, and collaborating in bands and musical projects on 4 continents. It was recorded at Hellfire Studios, Dublin, over a period of 3 years. It features a host of Dublin based musicians hailing from Ireland (North and South), Peru, Brazil, Congo, and Spain.

The album follows in the footsteps of Manu Chao andPaul Simon, and belongs to the “World Fusion” genre. Its tracks explore a variety of genres and styles through the medium of different languages, namely English, Spanish, Swahili with sprinklings of French and Irish as well.
