now that my trip from japan is over (for now), i think it's time for me to start making music again :)
my year started off very rough, but slowly i can feel things picking back up! i got to see my friends in japan, and experience everything that i've been dreaming about for years! i have a lot of inspiration from my trip, and since this page started out kind of as an audio journal for my dreams of going to japan, i figured i should continue that idea forward using my time IN japan ;)
thank you all for being with me through all of this, and for waiting for me! now that our paths have crossed again, let's finish the rest of 2024 with some great ideas and songs i have planned!!!

hey all!!!! i'm not BACK back yet, but i'm feeling a lot better now (aside from my job, but just happy to have one i guess 😭)
i'm putting in the work to get my life back on track to my goals, but it didn't feel right to not post something in one of my fav months!! currently, i'm planning a trip for christmas time to stay in yokohama and since it's a pretty big goal, i'm focusing on working hard to make it happen!!! BUT, to those of you who read my ramblings in my descriptions, I have about 15 new tracks that i made during my hiatus 😭
i'm not gonna say a release date because i don't have one yet, but i think with this one i'll release it when the time feels right :) funny how i make more songs on my hiatus than when i was "active" 😭😭 honestly thinking that being single and/or just happy is a big part of my working process 😭
anyhow, feeling extra happy and extra cared for today, so i brushed up my other september song!! it's nothing crazy, but i did do this all from 3am-8am today (sept 30) since i'm living on my night shift schedule right now 😭
yokohama here i come, and prepare to see a lot more of me soon, and if not soon then prepare for a yokohama spam 😂

finally back from my trip,still dealing with post-trip sadness among other personal things, but i am so ready to finally give you all the music i've always teased and never released, plus so much more!! i tried to post an entirely different song yesterday but it got flagged for copyright :( HOWEVER this setback and finishing this song tonight has shown me that i AM ready to be back ;) so we can expect to see eachother again often!!

FIRST TIME

i PROMISE this is the last time i remix this song 😭
i consider this my definitive flip of postcard, it has elements from all of my previous versions!! but i started this before my last trip to Japan, and after seeing Yokohama for the first time it really reinforced the want to make this version!! i had some very special memories with some very special people, so to finally go full circle i decided to close my loop of postcard by making what is my favourite version yet!! i started with this sample, and to close the chapters of the last 5(ish) years of old kisaki, it's fitting that i close it with the same one :) that is NOT me retiring this project by any means, but i'm feeling a lot more ambitious these days and the time i just spent in Japan has made me want to try more new things musically. i'm not leaving future funk either, but i'm going to push my own boundaries of what i can do and make and sometimes it may stray away a little 😥 but to celebrate the second kisaki renaissance, let's both stay tuned for what i have in store, cause i really don't even know yet 😭💙 dedicating this to my wonderful friends in Japan!!! xo 💙🇯🇵🗾🇯🇵💙 -k

BE MINE - a last minute valentine's future funk mix 💙

being totally honest, i practiced and prepped mixing since october 2024, recording multiple mixes (up to 4 or 5 hour long sets 😭) until i got the best one, solely to name it this 😭
when i announced my hiatus, i mentioned possibly doing a mix by december, and that mix was supposed to be shibuya109, throughout my trip to yokohama i was listening to endless song radios and playlists all in preparation 😤 but enough pretentiousness, this was inspired by a lot of things, most primarily a specific show in calgary ;) it's not the ABSOLUTE greatest, but it's probably the best mix i've done so far imo. i'll still mainly post future funk on this page, but i'm trying to claw my way back up to where i was, and diversifying my bonds is the first step 😤 i've started to do me in my normal life, so i'm gonna start doing me in terms of music too, so hope to see you around still and welcome to the kisaki renaissance!!!
