Marco Colocci (@queimada77) is an Italian producer and sound engineer based in Berlin. Learning how to play the contrabass and music theory has initiated the growth of his interest in the techniques of field recording and sound design, as well as his overall passion for electronic music. After self-releasing music during his teens, and later producing for Taiwanese artist Sabiwa from Chinabot, under the moniker Queimada he now presents a debut record coming out on Gin&Platonic.

Built around a concept proposed by Harvard professor E.O. Wilson, Eremocene depicts a future state of miserable epoch into which human species is slowly but steadily accelerating. Characterized by the existential & material isolation that comes from having calamitously extinguishing other forms of life on Earth while intrepidly fulfilling our immediate needs, the future labeled as The Age of Loneliness sees our identity completely transformed. 
On the record, Queimada explores precisely the conflict between the tempting ease and a pang of unconfessed guilt in an attempt to capture the ironical relationship they epitomize. The album represents an encounter between different techniques of granular synthesis and field recording. The encounter between the unstoppable and destructive, altogether resulting in a disruptive anthem of the intensifying burden of the postmodern times.

Premiere: Sprælle - Blunted Affect

Reuniones a medio camino entre la fiesta y la protesta, sentimientos que mezclan miedo y agobio, pero también esperanza. Ese es el intrincado –y contingente– universo en el que se mueven los cuatro temas de La naturaleza de la opresión, el EP debut del productor capitalino, Rvsgr. Con un pie en el techno de baja fidelidad y con otro en el imaginario sonoro del cyberpunk, este primer trabajo de Gerardo Cruces, fue producido de manera artesanal en su taller ubicado en las cercanías del Cerro Santa Lucía, o Huelén.

Manifiesto, Disciplina, Biométrica y Drogadicto, homosexual, traficante (que incluye un featuring con la artista sonora Amawta Relmu aka. Áji Zu y un sample de una entrevista a Pedro Lemebel), son los cuatro tracks de este EP masterizado por Imaabs en Modos Estudio y editado a través del sello de arte sonoro y música experimental, Archivo Veintidós. Un disco de canciones que bordean los cuatro minutos, y que además contiene un remix de Disciplina, a cargo de Valentina González aka. VGV, mitad del dúo de Djs, Les Premes.

La naturaleza de la opresión, tuvo como adelanto un video para Disciplina, a cargo de Estudio Biophilia y protagonizado por la artista visual y performer, Denisse Viera. Para Cruces, esta realización –que desliza una mirada tercermundista a la videografía de Chris Cunningham– “representa la sensación de estar vigilada constantemente, y sitúa el cuerpo de la mujer como dispositivo de opresión e intervención tecnológica, (cyborgs)”. El montaje, a cargo de Rodrigo Caquisani, contó con técnicas análogas de efectos visuales.
