Trip the Light 005 - Lyndon Lewis

For February woashing routine, we’ve invited a locally known Parisian from the 90’s GOA and trance period. Even though Pépé has been around for quite some time now, over the last few years he released many banging EP’s and singles that found a place on our family's playlists. 

Pépé also owns and curates L'Acid Render-Vous party night and monthly show on @rinse_france where he hosted dozens of established names to explore and share sometimes slow, but mostly psychedelic sound.

Session No. 70 w/ Pépé Del Noche

Swedish trance from 1992-1998. Limitation of 4000 chars, so I can't venture out too far in to detail about the selections.

The intro track was taken from a CD with field recordings from the Stockholm area. I found it at the Hötorget flea market, so naturally I chose this track as opener. It seems like the vendors were flipping sweet, belgian strawberries a noisy saturday morning in 1998.

Aquarian Atmosphere - White Cloud from the Clouds Over Europe 12" makes  a crackly appearance. This record was found in Söderhamn during a short fuel stop when driving north. I didn't get to do a proper dig as my upset better half wanted to continue the long ride north for some reason.

Early Cari Lekebusch. Cre8or - Elevation can can be found on both the Cre8ors EP and the Ultimate Techno Frequences CD/LP. Even though they're expensive on Discogs, they can sometimes be found in the cheap crates in Sweden.

David Österberg's Deva Chan - Atlantis follows. Taken from the Echoes Of The Sun CD compilation which was released in 1994 on Loop Records. David is also known as Ascendence and Descendence and is also a part of Lucky People Center a long with Jean-Louis Huhta.

Next up is Swdish producer Unai. Physical Levitation (Subcouds Remix) comes from his Gravity EP. I'm pretty sure I picked this one up at Mickes Skivor in Hornstull many years ago. The remixers, Subcouds, are also Swedish.

Continuing to harvest Echoes Of The Sun, Harmon Eyes - Close By is next. Harmon Eyes is of course Peter Benisch. I've been hammering his tracks in my sets. Tracks from his Lindego and Waiting For Snow CDs have appeared many times in Hjärngymnastik as well as other Harmon Eyes tracks.

Echoes Of The Sun again. Parallax - Time Traveller by Cari Lekebusch and Raul Blanco follows.

Subconscious Aurists - Astral Interference, taken from The First Pulse - The Beat Is Techno CD compilation is next. Released by Pulsewave-Uffe in 1996.

Two productions by Robert Leiner follows. Source Experience - Cortex is taken from the comp Return To The Source: Deep Trance & Ritual Beats. The next one is his remix of Lucky People Center's To The Space.

Alexander Frödinger's Unknown Fiction was found around 07-08 at the record store that used to be placed in the middle of Slussen. It wasn't listed on Discogs at the time, but as it caught my interest it had the be brought home. Very few copies seem to exist, but I guess Acronym has one as he played it in an episode for Resident Advisor.

Dash - Scanner is next. Another crackly appearance from the Clouds Over Europe 12".

Following, Alexi Delano and Cari Lekebusch's Yakari And Delano - You Got To (Trancit) is also from the Echoes Of The Sun compilation.

Adam Beyer and Jesper Dahlbäck's Wave Slaves - Nightstalker was released on Planet Rhythm in 1995.

Lenk (Jesper Dahlbäck) on Planet Rhythm.

Cari Lekebusch as Braincell - Computer Controlled, released on Harthouse in 1994.

Closing is Max Reich's Loke - Attack, released on Deep Mission in 1997.

For January I handed my @KMAH-Radio over to two artists that are doing great things right now. The first 48 minutes are from @faux_naif - a selector regarded highly for her expansive knowledge of EBM, post punk and other niche genres from the 80s ‘til now, and has been making a solid imprint in London with her own M II M nights. The next 72 minutes are from Parisian @Decemberxxx; who’s latest release on Pinkman - never far from the distinct buzz of hardware - is another example of his artistic integrity following exceptional EPs on Jealous God and Mannequin.

Hjärngymnastik is a cratedigger project which aims to dig up and play electronic music released prior to the year 2000.  Styles such as Detroit Techno, IDM, Acid, Electro, Ambient, Bleep, Breakbeat, Jungle, New Beat, Deep House and many neighbouring styles will be heard in these sets.

Each sunday I'll be posting an hour of my selections. Some episodes will include guest mixes from excellent contributors - DJs, producers, record collectors and music enthusiasts. Within the same episode, the guest mix will be heard first followed by mine. A random drawing of brains conducting some kind of suspicious activity will of course accompany the set.
