Everything began with a chat between Systematic label head Marc Romboy and his long time friend Paolo aka Dusty Kid. During the pandemic times they reminisced about the most exciting period of techno music, the beginning of the 90s and exchanged tracks which have blown them away.

They listened to tracks on labels like i.e. R&S, Plus 8 and Industrial Strength and all over sudden they came to the idea to create a concept where Dusty Kid would put his hands on four of his most favorite tracks from 1992 and 1993. The result is this Various Artists double vinyl album including new interpretations of four classic tracks which changed their lifes and were and still are iconic.

One of the most recognisable names in French electronic music is Arnaud Rebotini. He is credited with helping electronic music gain popularity in Europe. Arnaud is a longstanding artist whose musical vision goes beyond fads and trends. He is a singer, DJ, composer, producer, and author. He has become an iconic figure due to his distinct style and his dynamic yet reflective performances as well as love of synthesisers.

Ending the year, his new four track EP titled Winter Sequences will be released on his own well known imprint Blackstrobe Records, and it explores stunning ideas of classic electro and techno rhythms with a certain Detroit and French combination in its heart.

For this DT:Premiere we selected “Snowy Sunday Smile” that is one of the more techno sounding tracks provided. A gritty synth line expands and contracts under an overall spacey atmosphere, while stabbing tones act as the main lead, and other more euphoric textures develop at times in this highly emotional and invigorating piece.
