Promo Mix - Feb 2012

My name is Jodie Lucas and I am currently working under the name Kita&TheHat as a DJ, producer and remixer. Although the alias Kita&TheHat is relatively new, having only been launched in Jan 2010, I actually began DJing back in 2002. At the age of 19 after having experienced three years of dance, trance and a whole lot more, I decided the music scene was for me. I spent my early days using a pair of Technics practising day and night until I wore them out. 

After a big break, I returned to what I love best and realising things had changed somewhat, I started using Traktor Pro with a Numark Omni controller, as well as producing and remixing in Ableton Live and Logic Pro.

From a DJing perspective, Kita&TheHat has played at various places including The Ministry of Sound in London and various bars/boats in Ibiza.
I have worked with and alongside label owner Wez Saunders from Endemic Digital (who was previously The Hat from Kita&TheHat) and between us we have produced 10 progressive house tracks under the alias of Kita&TheHat. One of our tracks 'Abremes Dream' [sample above] will be available on beatport from 27th December 2010.

In the summer I went to Ibiza where the response to Kita&TheHat was immense. Thanks to all the people that showed interest in what I do. Upon my return I purchased a set of Pioneer CDJ 900s ......
..........although i love the techincal progression in music you just can't beat 'real' DJing :) 
I am currently working on a new track so watch this space.
