release write-up » Pierce Warnecke was born in a place sometime ago. He has lived in different places since then, and will die somewhere else during this century. He has studied and worked, known success and failure. He has been happy, disappointed, content and sad. He has always made music. 

Pierce has released music on BEE and Fremdtunes and remixed Kelpe, Soosh and Big Mister Doom. He has opened for Red Snapper, Kelpe, Frank Bretschneider and DMX Krew, and has played in many places in the US and Europe. He now lives in Berlin where he works as a sound designer and programmer.

release write-up » "A Kind Of Blues" transitions seamlessly between swampy bass beats and grooving live band arrangements and everything in between. The album topic range is a recount of the two years since he released Truthseeker. From songs about life on the road life as a touring musician with chart topping Aloe Blacc, and observing Aloe's rising career (see POPMachine, Road Again, Wherever I Go) to the revolutionary spirit embodied around the world via Occupy and the Arab Spring (see Revolve, Freetrain), and finally his thirst for expression and desire to follow his artistic path (see, My Song, BeYoself). Not without a sense of humor, JVD covers Aloe Blaccs hit tune "I Need A Dollar" with a slowed down sexy-fied groove and later features Aloe singing a fresh new arrangement of the Bill Withers classic "Ain't No Sunshine." Lending to the influence and reference of Miles Davis, Joel revamps the classic tune "All Blues" with an electro-downtempo twist featuring Bridget Barkan on vocals. Wafeekee of The Flux drops by for a rap verse on My Song and A Kind Of Blues (the song) . For all instruments and voices not supplied by Joel (he plays all of the instruments on some of the tracks), he enlists his all-star band of friends and world-class musicians, dubbed "Special Force" for the studio and live shows. This very talented group of individuals have a staggering credit list, playing for likes of Mariah Carey, Van Hunt, Aloe Blacc, Snoop Dogg, the Scissor Sisters and more. They are a musical steam train when in motion.

release write-up » On 'The Blue Marble' DJ Mace (initiator of Fremdkunst and co-owner of Fremdtunes) and friends explore, once again, the outer-limits of the Fremdkunst-universe. 

Challenging the blue, empty vastness of this nihilistic universe with ambientlike soundscapes & robust beats and at the same time expressing the density of love for everything that's close. Almost submerging in pools of glitches, reverb and samples, but always managing to keep floating on strong rhythmtracks and catchy melodies. Special guests are Wiboud Burkens (on keys) and guitar-hero slash trumpeteer Shycop. Coco Bryce pulls out a set of breakbeats on his off-kilter remix of 'Das Abendland ft Erwin Vann' (of the Zauberschwein im krankenhaus album). Inspiration comes from the works of David Toop, Edvard Grieg, Arthur Schnitzler, Paul van Tongeren, Flexus, Lars von Trier, Z-Factor and others. 

Fremdkunst was initiated by DJ Mace in 2004, as a sequel to the earlier Zarathustra-works and as an exhaust for his love for beats, jazz, hip-hop, vintage synths, philosophy and literature. Inspired by the early D.I.T.C. & Paul C sound and works of Nietzsche & Chamfort, the Fremdkunst-tunes blend hard-hitting beats with cinematographic vibes and melodies. On the first Fremdkunst demo (2007) Mace combined jazz, surf, old school house and other musical styles with hip-hop/breakbeats. To complete the first official Fremdkunst album (2010) Mace worked with DJ's Optimus and Vindictiv, Erwin Vann, Mete Erker and others. In 2010 and 2011 followed the 3 EP's 'Zauberschwein by Candlelight', 'O sweet schwein of mine' and 'Like Zauberhulk', finally combined om 'Zauberschwein im krankenhaus' (2012). Besides Fremdkunst, Mace also works with partner in crime on the project OptiMace (This music is not music, KDIP). The duo also runs label Fremdtunes on which they released music by artists like Kid Sundance, Emufucka, Julian Edwardes, Kelpe, Coco Bryce, Big Mister Doom and Pierce Warnecke.
