Locomotion #1 - Garnett b2b DJ Tracksuit

Sam Don invited Brazilian Wax's Joe Osbourne to West London's incredible Boat Pod to speak to him about his latest compilation Hidden Waters: Strange and Sublime Sounds of Rio de Janeiro.  

Sam kicked off the show, playing some Brazilian classics before heading into more modern sounds including his personal highlights from Hidden Waters.   After a chat with Joe about how this incredible compilation came about, he then delivered a guest mix which went deeper, fully exploring the fascinating melting pot that is the modern Rio sound.

To get you in the mood for our next matinée, we are excited to present you a vinyl-only mix from Passion Boy who will be our main invite flying in from Bogotá for our next show on Saturday 18th of November in Lima.

Passion Boy aka Iván Villacob, has developed a unique taste in music influenced by folkloric sounds during his earlier life in the Caribbean coast of Colombia and electronic artists touring the island of Puerto Rico in the 2000s. Arriving to the Colombian capital Bogotá, his search started for new music and sounds, crossing paths and influenced by local Djs, producer and curators such as Javier Kruz, Sergio Iglesias, and Mansvr. Nowadays he is a firm favorite of the local scene in Bogotá, frequenting clubs and bars such as Video Club, Kaputt, Paradiscos, and Calle 9.

For the this edition of the selector series, Passion Boy crafted a vinyl-only mix with an upbeat selection spanning across the styles of mostly 80s synth pop, boogie, and italo - giving us a fine taste of what to expect during his upcoming debut in Lima.
