The 'Ozone' EP is the Dublin label's 4th release, following 12"s from DMX Krew, Duke Slammer and Armonics, Black Spuma.

Andy Garvey finally breaks cover after years of honing her cyber-tinged production edge with a hefty four track debut EP for the Lobster Theremin main label. 

Having developed her selections and style via her staple Pure Space show for Aussie radio station Triple J - as well as finding time to co-head the Nectar booking agency and event series - Garvey's debut is a solid reflection of that journey and the core sound of the platforms she helms. 

Eternal Recurrence is a classic banger on the A1. Forming an intersection between acid, breaks and a rolling & scuffed modern deep house sound that was established early in the Lobster catalogue. It's been track ID'd at every turn, as well as featuring in a slurry of Lobster mixes and Mall Grab's BBC Radio Essential mix. A subtle peak-time weapon. 

We then drift into the melodic acid & pads of Infinity. A blast of fuzzy 808 thumping under a carpet of melodic textures and brooding soundscapes. Serious emotional acid bizz this. 

Meta Physical breaks and thumps along with a slow melancholy line that emerges and submerges. Circuits crackle and wail; the ghost of perished AI call out from the dark; a lost, lonely electroid bot longs for real emotions and a place to call home. 

Finishing up is the tough as a nut Protovision. A shot of speedy VR-acid electro direct to the skull. Hammering 808's and gnarly semi-tone eighth rhythms chunter to a drive-time rhythms. A midnight chase towards a future megacity, all set in glowing neon and the blackest black.

We got lucky with this release. With remix contests you know you'll end up with loads of bastard lemons to wade through, there's zero guarantee that ANY of them will be even remotely listenable, and all of the non-winning entrants will hate you. Our job wasn't easy. We looked for originality, excitement, and energy. We found it. Out of the 303 remixes we received of Zombie Nation's 'Level,' we were handed some fantastic tracks that we are proud to release. 

OUR WINNING ENTRY: 

BUTTTRIXXX
This young Australian delivered a killer, distorted, swag-filled mid-tempo bomb. We loved the original vibe: pitched down vocals made into witchy pads spread over banging lo-fi beats. This got everyone at Turbo HQ's head nodding in unanimous support.


TOO GOOD TO IGNORE (in no particular order):

READYBOY
Off-the-rails chunky beats capture the MPC loving funk of Zombie Nation without resorting to any obvious tricks. We can't hear much of the original here, but what matters more is that this is dope.

DORTMUND
He may or may not be German, but you can feel a cool, precise talent at work here. He chose elements from the original wisely and complimented them with a simple, strong lead. Not a peak time performer, but a good remix.

TWOB
Stripped down and tailored for club play. Not re-inventing the party wheel but we know it would work. 

GIULIANO RASCAN
Probably our runner-up, this is a MASSIVE EDM monster. We're talking Avicii-level, Ultra-festival setlist, heart hand pumping, ecstasy inducing, hiss blasting and ITALIAN. This much positive dance-floor energy can make us a bit uncomfortable, but in the end we couldn't deny Giuliano took it to the next LEVEL. BAAAAM.

Anja Schneider is the mobilee records founder, broadcaster, internationally renowned DJ andproducer once labeled a "perpetual motion machine", and one of the hardest working individuals in the business.
Anja’s 2008 opus, her debut album Beyond the Valley, was released to critical acclaim, with tracks "Belize" and “Safari” dominating Charts and dancefloors worldwide. She followed this with Deseo, mobilee’s 50th release, and a pair of storming tech house EPs in 2010, iThought and Pushin’ plus a few remixes. “Imagination ”, a co-production
between Anja and And.Id, featured on Heidi’s Jackathon compilation for Get Physical Music in early 2011 was her last output. After hiding in the studio for a while with the new label mate Nyma she is finally back on mobilee with her new ep „Diagonal“.

Like a crusader of the night, DJ and event manager Jeremy J is a household name on the far north entertainment front.

Personality wise, he is a quiet achiever! Behind the decks he will and has mixed it with the best… Jeremy J has the reputation as the DJ’s DJ. A near perfect ear, a brand of house, tech, breaks, hip hop, disco, acid jazz and funk that defines great music and the seamless way of compiling tracks together creating the ultimate party vibe. His diversity to play amongst any DJ or act amongst these genres is second to none and has set the benchmark for all that follow.

Residing in Cairns, Jeremy J burst onto the national scene through the mix ‘If It Aint Broken Don’t Fix It’ through AKA/Triple J and his own compilation release (House2Hard Vol 2), tours and role with Generationext. 

Holding residencies with every major club and bar in Cairns and surrounding areas for over a decade, playing or instigating festivals, supporting and bringing a plethora of acts to North Queensland and across the country, for a regional town his career has been illustrious…and would be seen in this light amongst the guns of major cities. There are simply to many events played and acts he has supported to list!

Respected and revered for rescuing the north’s music scene from the near depths of extinction with his partnership in Electric Avenue, he is not afraid to put the music first. Whether it be DJ’s, bands, electronica or hip hop, Jeremy J and Electric Avenue are striving to give the regional area’s of North Queensland the entertainment and respect it deserves. 

Having been voted #1 in the North Queensland Elec:Tropica DJ award poll, industry achievement awards for his own abilities, events, his retail store and having won first place in a national mix up competition via Triple J, Jeremy has earned his right place amongst the upper echelon. Hosting and guest appearances on numerous radio stations, managing international DJ tours, setting up his DJ school, label management, instigating and running the successful retail outlet and hub for DJ’s in Tastey… is there anything he hasn’t had his fingers in? Studio… yes well that’s a work in progress at present!
