This version by Kitty LaRoar & Nick Shankland - Summer of 2014.
Recorded all analogue on 2" tape at Cowshed Studio London.

"This song was written one night in Palm Springs. When I sang the last line, Jule Styne looked over at me and said, 'So. That's it.' I knew he felt we could have written on, but I felt I had said all there was to say, and if I had it to do over, I would stop right there again." - Sammy Cahn.
Kitty LaRoar sings this lovely 1944 song made famous by Chet Baker & Frank Sinatra, with Nick Shankland at the piano.

For Heaven’s Sake was composed by Sherman Edwards, Donald Meyer and Elise Bretton. For Heaven’s Sake is a very good example of a song composed during The Golden Age of American Pop Song by comparatively unknown writers, when compared to the composers of most of the other songs that appear in this series. There were many such songs that were discovered by great artists looking for great songs. Billie Holiday made a beautiful recording of this on her iconic album “Lady In Satin”. It has also been recorded by artists including, Chet Baker, Bill Evans and Wes Montgomery.
