Madeleine “Kitty” Templeton  has been playing music since her brother put a guitar in her hand as a teenager. She has had already piano training, and singing in her childhood. Kitty's natural ability to arrange music, and her ear for melody and harmony all were tools to build the foundations of her compositions throughout her life as a recording artist/ singer/ songwriter, and it has made all of her music interesting, and enjoyable to listen to. 

She has recorded much music of different styles. Her first album was with a band called Free Dyrt, legendary in Montana from the late nineties.  Free Dyrt was a six piece jam band known for songs as diverse as "Understand", "Grizzly Bear", "Navar's Poem", and "Park Bench". 

After the band experience Kitty spent a year in Nashville, Tennessee working on songwriting and lyrical composition at BMI under the direction of hit songwriter Jason Blume.  She returned to Washington DC, her hometown, and wrote and recorded "Soul Coffee" her debut album as a solo artist in 2004, re-released and produced in 2009.  This ensemble of songs is a perfect match to what "Soul Coffee" is, and therefore a work to be recognized.

Kitty’s style has morphed since she has become a solo artist, into Folk/Pop/Rock. Although her music is soft in appearance, Kitty has a tendency to “rock”, as her fans, and people who have experienced her music say. The new music of her second album "Spirit In The Snow" has hints of light modern jazz, and is a journey through love and loss, in a dreamy way. A perfect album to keep you warm on a cold night.
