In 2012, I decided to make a project where each song was a positive affirmation.  I wanted to create something unique & inspiring with awesome beats, captivating lyrics, and catchy hooks.  I called my brother up to produce the tracks, contacted my good friend Krista Richards to bless the project with her amazing vocals, and got my friend Daj to sing on a song. Kiyoshi Affirmation EP Snippets

My new self produced EP.  This is the first project I've ever produced entirely by myself.  I put a lot of work into these songs…I wrote, produced, sung, rapped, played bass guitar & djembes, and arranged all 3 tracks. They came out doper than most of the songs in my entire music catalogue, in my honest opinion. 

Many people know me for being a rapper, however most don’t know I have an extensive musical background: creating jingles on my guitar as an 8 year old in my room …and writing Christian raps with r&b choruses as a teenager in the 90’s. I’m way more than just a rapper who spits bars and this EP illustrates and showcases my musical skills on another level.

Kiyoshi is a world renowned rapper, singer, rap coach, and music producer from Ann Arbor, Michigan.  He combines soulful lo-fi & boom bap hip hop with house & world dance music.  He has over 20 years of live performance experience under his belt and has performed for over 100,000 people during his career.  

Kiyoshi has been featured on countless media outlets including MTV, VH1, and Vice, and has opened up for notable acts such as Gza (Wu-Tang Clan), Slum Village, Everlast (House of Pain), Aloe Blacc, and Mayer Hawthorne.  He has also collaborated with world class musicians and producers such as Victor Wooten and been featured on the “Ready to Live" Health & Wellness mixtape executive produced by Stic of the legendary hip hop duo Dead Prez amongst other rap heavyweights including Nas, KRS-One, Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, and others.

As a transformational rap coach, Kiyoshi trains and coaches people of all levels:  from beginners who've never rapped before to business CEOs, social media influencers, healers, life coaches, therapists etc, using flowetry as a tool for personal self development.
