Sonic Cloisters, a series of site-specific electronic music performances, launches this spring and features renowned and emerging electronic music artists recorded in the unique spaces of The Met Cloisters. Created specifically for digital platforms, Sonic Cloisters emphasizes the look, feel, and sound of the Cloisters as the inspiration and starting point for new electronic music. Freed from the confines of the dance floor, these artists interact with the Cloisters’ collection, architecture, and environment to explore new creative territory and compositional approaches.

YAKONA, a duo from Bristol contacted me some weeks, not knowing we were already working with their Bristol friends from Oleeva Records. Well, luckily the music stood out on its own : "Heights" is a melancholic techno production with very epic, wide & interesting synth sounds, which are played out with long tails and relatively minimalistic chord progressions, making the atmosphere playing the key role in this production. The bassons give it the perfect movie feel & make it one of our most special Premiere's yet.

YAKONA's "Heights" EP will arrive on the EMINENT-label, April 7th, exclusively on Traxsource. (April 21st on all other major stores)

Berlin Club Culture is facing the biggest challenge in its history. On Friday, the 13th of March, all of Berlin´s nightlife was officially shut down to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Since then, about 9000 employees, as well as tens of thousands of artists have been without work and wages, and the existence of many of the places that give Berlin its identity is threatened.

As a reaction to the closing of all Berlin clubs and to the rest of the world being in quarantine, Berlin is showing its support and solidarity by bringing the biggest possible digital club to your home.
