Mørbeck makes mighty meaty material. That much is clear, but what's also pretty cool is that he chooses to do it on his own terms. Beyond a loosie here and there, like the M_REC 12" from this year, he opts to release on own-brand labels, Code Is Law included.

The hourlong double EP T.R.I.P.S. is Mørbeck's most comprehensive statement to date – and, for our money, the best yet. "Virgin Suicide" is uncommonly brash, winching its way towards a killer bait 'n switch in the final third, but still retaining enough of the robust techno to mark it as definably his.

Codeislaw008 drops Sept 10th. You'd do wisely to bag on sight.

Wie im Film: Space, Soundlandschaften, Polizisten, Bloody-Netaudio-Heros, elektronische Verfolgungsjagden und zartes Klavierklangunterholz zum Verstecken. Von Tscheljabinsk bis Osaka, nach Sao Paolo und dann über zurück via Rostov, Nîmes, Havanna nach New England… Nichts ist klar: Nebel, Ambient, unaufhaltsames Fallen… Die Hoffnung stirbt aber bekanntlich zuletzt. Jetzt aber erst recht… als „Hope 3.0“.
