A.Spell have found a trio where each musician complements the other perfectly. The band comprises of Vocalist and Accordeon player, Nadja Stoller, Bass Clarinet player and electro wizard, Jan Galega Brönnimann and the Percussionist, Tabla and Didgeridoo player Ronan Skillen from Cape Town, South Africa.

With the release of their debut album „Where The Strange Creatures Live“, A.Spell bring music where lyrically and structurally the songs are given special contexts within which they unfold in their own spacial feeling. Unfamiliar combinations of instruments and rich variety are specialities that are endlessly intriguing. Bass Clarinet and Tabla combined with playful electronics and a provocative Accordeon are the foundation for an otherworldly Voice soaring high above, reminding us of mystical beings, secrets behind mountains of snow and a forgotten pair of shoes. „Where The Strange Creatures Live“ is a journey through surreal dreamworlds.

Robot Koch and director Lukas Feigelfeld have teamed up to create a special collaboration project. After Lukas directed the video "Autodreams" ("The Other Side", Project: Mooncircle) in 2011, they wanted to go a step further. The idea behind the release "Unpaved" was to create a short film in which the music and the images are equally important.

Imagine the old mystic character "Pan", which represents nature, animalism and freedom, in a contemporary and realistic setting; becoming a modern vagabond, a drifter, living in the woods and roaming the lands, always accompanied by his friend, the dog. As his path leads him into the city of modern society, he is quickly confronted with its harsh reality -- The conflict between living in an urban space and wanting to be at piece in a remote place in nature. Can we consider ourselves animals or have we already evolved into something too distanced from its natural enviroment and essence?

"When I write music it's always very visual. I have images in my mind that put me in certain moods while I produce -- oftentimes I make music to a film that hasn't been shot yet. This has been something I wanted to do for a long time: compose music for a film." -- Koch

This February we will be releasing his debut album <i>'Mother Love'</i> on limited chrome cassettes and digitally. The album is dedicated to his late mother, who was a great music enthusiast and passed on her appreciation, dedication and talent to him. Soaking in his surroundings like an ethnologist, he used interaction with friends and strangers as inspiration. His music is his way to vent out and deal with negativity wherefore the titles usually give away the events that led to their creation.
