Vol. 5 of Pandemix Live Jams kicks of with „Reality Benders“ - a reflection on the 2020 US elections. Broken beats and a haunted melody over a monotonous but hypnotic modular bassline. A2 „For Pete’s 60th*“ is a dedication to Pete Namlook’s 60th birthday - the day this jam was recorded. A dreamy Ambient piece with sprinkles of ASMR and a narration by Manuela Krause over deep basses and soft ambient swirls. The entire B-side is dedicated to the Jazz tinged House tune titled „The Boogie Lander“. First the original Move D version based on his 2020 Pandemix live streams. Funky and with a certain sense of humour. At this version’s core is a long spaced out electric guitar solo. B2 then gives us the „Other Worldly Jazz Remix“ by the amazing Reggie Dokes who elevates the track to a whole new and even jazzier level. Nevertheless, Reggie still keeps the dance floor in mind. Quite a remarkable remix to end a little more experimental Move D EP.

For the next premiere on @DarkScienceElectro we turn to @Datawave, who should be on your radar by this point in the game if you have been paying attention to my output as Dark Science Electro on social media sites. I've been screaming (from the Electro mountain top) about how fantastic this newcomer's work is and it looks like he is getting some traction with a new full-length release on 

@Talahachi is a UK-based record label focused on rhythmic electronic music, operating from the science department of North Middlesex Technical College and they have been active since 2014. With their new release we see the first full-length release from @Datawave. This Belgian producer has arranged a collection of tracks that truly highlight his flexibility within the Electro music genre. The name 'Telesto' comes from the name of a small moon floating in the orbit of Saturn, which plays into the theme of the release which is centered around an imaginary future in which a long-abandoned orbiting weather station starts transmitting signals again. The track features classic 808 drum programming as well as lush pads combined with sparse, stop-n-go bass lines. Subtle supporting synths bring additional depth to the track by way of dreamy atmosphere. The album is released on September 30th.

Oscillate Tracks 003 is the first split EP featuring resident Johanna Knutsson and alumni Karen Gwyer. The two performed together early last year, Karen live with her shimmering textures before Johanna introduced her bleepy tales. Their musical affinity was easily recognisable and our aim was to bring their dynamic connection from one fleeting experience onto the enduring form of a record. 

On Johanna’s side, the Swedish producer plays with tempo and panning, constructing vast soundscapes on the backdrop of a dubbed-out alternating bass drum with refrains from her Nord synth rippling throughout. On the flip we find Karen exploring melancholic ambient IDM, layering sparkling notes over lush melodies interlaced with rapid percussions, forming utterly exquisite works of art.

Johanna Knutsson debuted as a DJ on the vivid nightlife scene of Berlin towards the end of the 00’s. Built on a foundation of techno, her sets are on the emotive side of the spectrum. Johanna moves around effortlessly between genres; riding on rhythms, drums and sounds; incorporating hard-hitting house, acid, breakbeat and electro - a fantasy of spacey, deep, hard uncompromising music sans aggression. She creates a landscape for you to travel into with her, whether it is a soaring BPM-trip or a soothing private carpet ride, she wants you to feel comfortable and grounded. She connects with you and sees her set as a wordless interaction where energy and motion fluxes freely.
