Klassified Dance Floor Mix #1 by Parallelle

The music of Abdallah Oumbadougou honors the beauty of the desert and aims to unite the divided population of his region. The Tuareg singer and guitarist, who was born in Niger, dedicated his career to singing about the struggles of his people and wrote songs inspired by the events of his persecuted and exiled community.

Abdallah Oumbadougou’s poetic and revolutionary lyrics address the troubling issues facing the Tuareg and other nomads of the Sahara, of which he offered a lucid and concerned insight.

During his trips through North- and West-Africa Joep Mencke fell in love with the sounds of West-African music, and in particular with the sound of Abdallah Oumbadougou. Even without being able to understand the words Abdallah is singing, he could deeply feel his music. 

After Oumbadougou’s passing in 2020, Joep Mencke decided to pay tribute to this incredible musician and his culture by creating his own version of “Talla Talline Manine”. The remix aims to continue Oumbadougou’s legacy of bringing people together through music and present his story to a new audience.

Let Talla Talline Manine take you on a harmonious journey to the desert of Niger. 

A track that is made for the dancefloor, but stays true to the desert sound.
