Mistakenly perceived as a threat, I found myself behind bars, accused of inciting the public and causing disorder, despite being sober.

The police demanded a 50K bribe, but I stood my ground, refusing to pay. My use of pseudo-names added another layer of complexity to my situation. Inside, I encountered a harsh reality: corrupt and brutal police officers alongside a few rare, honest souls. I became an unofficial consultant on various matters, from spirituality to social justice, transforming street families into my allies and turning the tables in the penitentiary.

While my family was worried sick, desperately searching for me with the help of DCI, I navigated the treacherous waters of incarceration. Join me as I recount the raw and unfiltered lessons from my time in Kamukunji, shedding light on the stark truths about the police system and the resilience required to survive it.
