Born in the dark streets of Cairo, grown to the unforgettable forests of Santa Esmeralda, spending its teen years in Bombay and Tangier markets, mature into the deep spacey Jungle of Ghana we proudly present you a new label from the land of the pyramids: SHANGO RECORDS invites you to an unheard world music psychedelic trip: like through a colorful kaleidoscope we will melt down Indian and Pakistani Vibes, Arab-Tek and Oriental groovy vibes, Afro-Beat rhythms n' pieces, Cumbia Tropicana flavors and cosmic Ghetto-Latin vibes into forbidden sounds of frenzied electronic dancefloor rituals. Outside traditional paths these driving grooves and polyphonic structures take the adventure seeking dancer to Dionysian highs and places never been before.

The walls of the little room in which we are sitting are crammed with photographs. Every branch of the family is represented, it is like a cross section of the Indian empire. For the most part the members of this genealogical tree look like withered leaves: the women are frail and they have a startled, frightened look in their eyes: the men have a keen, intelligent look, like educated chimpanzees. They are all there, about ninety of them, with their white bullocks, their dung cakes, their skinny legs, their old-fashioned spectacles; in the background, now and then, one catches a glimpse of the parched soil, of a crumbling pediment, of an idol with crooked arms, a sort of human centipede. There is something so fantastic, so incongruous about this gallery that one is reminded inevitably of the great spawn of temples which stretch from the Himalayas to the tip of Ceylon, a vast jumble of architecture, staggering in beauty and at the same time monstrous, hideously monstrous because the fecundity which seethes and ferments in the myriad ramifications of design seems to have exhausted the very soil of India itself. Davka is a man of wisdom and elegance. This is his first offering for Shango Records. This track can give you the keys to the gates of the holy mountain. Veytik, Obbie and Solar Kings are your hopes behind those gates.

From building up memorable beats out his bedroom, tapping into his beloved childhood memories, flush with retro games and static-filled VHS imagery, onto taking over some of the biggest international stages including Burning Man and Fusion Festival, the journey of Berlin-based producer Rampue has been no short of graceful and inspirational. First single lifted from his upcoming new LP, 'Bubblebath Trance', which also makes for A Tribe Called Kotori's first-ever incursion in the full-length territory, here comes 'Harmonie / Inside'. The work of a vibist in the purest sense of the term, this first extract gives a rather formidable glimpse into Rampue's washed-out and poignantly evocative mindscape, replete with the "goosebump or tears moment" he's pledged to cast a broader, comprehensive light upon. 

Skipping out on the harshness of life, Rampue's sound is a vivid invitation to sail off and explore outside of your comfort zone, what knits and unties the limits of your inner/outer duality. Infused with the "euphonious strains of soundtracks from my childhood PlayStation 1 games", the seven minute-long 'Harmonie' is streamlined electronica at its lushest and most cinematic-friendly. Figure yourself riding a chocobo across the sand-covered expanse of North Corel (toasting to the FFVII nerds here) as this blasts out in the distance. This is an absolute marvel of uplifting composition and deft orchestral implementation, where Rampue's gold touch for creating these ample, mind-expanding modular buildups (all Buchla blazing) shines through all the more brightly. 

Breathing typical '90s breaks and stepping motifs into the picture, he elegantly laces along a future-facing / early 2000s electro-pop kind of vibe, 'Inside' finds us swimming against tides of non-figurative, octave-shifting vocals and heavily processed machine talk veering off into modular abstraction. Here, Rampue's poetic take lives up to his prophetic will of finding his vocabulary in the "cadence of melodies, not in the labyrinth of words". If, as he explains, "my music, rich with shades of melancholy and themes of love, seeks to evoke the profound: those 'goosebump' moments, the stirrings of tears, the intimate connection with the listener's emotions", no doubt 'Harmonie / Inside' provides the perfect platform to experience Rampue's tightrope dancing between cozy nostalgia and acrobatic here-and-nowness.

Influential DJ, producer, club and label owner Renato Ratier launches new moniker Ratier with brilliant new LP, ‘Ritual’.

Renato Ratier has very much shaped the Latin American house underground over the last two decades. He is the driving force behind the legendary D-Edge club in Sao Paulo. Renato is also the creator of Surreal Park in Camboriú, located in the south of Brazil, a super club spanning 92 thousand square meters with 6 dance floors inspired by the surrealist art movement—a blend of artistic experiences that extend beyond music. He has recently opened a new D-Edge in Rio de Janeiro as part of a huge new Cultural Center across multiple floors. It is a multicultural space that reflects his principles of passion, dedication, purpose, and authenticity. He has taken his sounds to all the world's finest clubs and released EPs on Get Physical, Gigolo, Kompakt, Light My Fire, and No.19 Music, among others. His debut album ‘Black Belt’ and 2016 follow-up ‘Youniverse’ took him to new heights and ensured he is now one of the most sought-after Brazilian
DJs in the world.

This majestic musical trip of Ritual opens with the bubbly deep house of 'Aura' complete with steamy vocals and cosmic pads. 'Mantra' is a collab with L_cio that journeys up amongst the stars on a warming bassline. There is more grit to the bass rumbles of the excellent 'Cerimonia' while jungle ambiance and bird calls keep things organic and continue through the bouncing house funk of 'Ventre' which is lead by a mystic and tribal
flute.

The fantastic 'Dialeto' is another house groove with rich sound designs and plenty of tropical charm from playful horns to charming melodies, and 'Profeta' is alive with wooden hits, shakers, and a killer bassline full of subtle funk that provides a great foundation for a preacher vocal. 'Terra' layers up loose Latin percussion and more hypnotic flutes, 'Jamila' has soulful vocal flair and lush strings, and 'Sopro' brings a chunky tech house with a colorful carnival atmosphere. The final trio of expertly produced and atmospheric sounds includes 'Abençoado' with its old school Chicago house monologue, the trance-inducing house of 'Bamboo', and freewheeling indigenous melodies and vocal chants of the sublime 'Ritual'.

The album will also be released in Dolby Atmos, which is an advanced audio technology developed by Dolby Laboratories. The main feature of Dolby Atmos is its ability to create a three-dimensional sound experience by adding a vertical dimension to traditional audio, providing a more immersive and realistic audio experience.

‘Ritual’ by Ratier is released via D Edge Records on the 22nd of December.

Einige der ältesten Vergnügen der Menschheit werden erst dann auf einer wirklich tiefen Ebene erlebt, wenn man sich bei ihnen Zeit lässt: Essen. Denken. Sinnliche Liebe.
Mit diesem Gedanken im Hinterkopf überrascht es nicht, dass der Sound von She Knows mit ihren 10 bpm weniger sich spürbar von der einheitlichen Clubmusik abhebt. Sobald die tanzende Person sich die Zeit zugesteht, wirklich zuzuhören und sich vollständig in Teresa Tomás‘ weiche und doch kraftvolle Stimme und in die schmelzenden Klänge von Marcel Dadaltos
Synthesizern fallen zu lassen, wird die perfekte Grundlage für das geschaffen, was nicht anders als „Die Magie der Tanzfläche“ zu beschreiben ist.
Die spanische Sängerin und der aus Brasilien stammende Produzent lernten sich im Jahr 2014 kennen und beschlossen bald darauf, ihren ganz eigenen Klang zu kreieren: ein Hybrid aus 90ies Art Pop und moderner elektronischer Tanzmusik, der hier und da eine Idee ihrer beider musikalischer Wurzeln durchblicken lässt. Dabei ist es She Knows Credo, die Spontanität und den Funken des Moments in ihre Musik einfließen zu lassen, ganz so wie sie es bei ihren Jamsessions erleben. Und so überrascht es nicht, dass sich dieser einzigartige Klang schnell europaweit herumsprach. In den vergangenen Sommern hypnotisierten She Knows mit ihrem Liveact das Publikum in den bekanntesten Clubs Berlins wie dem about:blank, der Rummelsbucht, dem Kater Blau, der Ritter Butzke, dem Yaam und auf der Wildne Möhre, der Fusion und dem Garbicz Festival.
Es gibt wohl kaum einen Ort als das weithin bekannte Bar 25 Label, auf dem ihre EP „Distorted Images“ besser aufgehoben wäre. Einer der Tracks der EP, „Thalassa“, erschien bereits auf der zweiten „Zeitgeist“ Compilation des Labels.
Sicher ist, dass dieses Duo noch viele Menschen in seinen Bann ziehen wird – vor allem, wenn ihnen dieses extra Quäntchen an Zeit zugestanden wird, das die guten Dinge erst richtig besonders macht.
