Glastonbury 2022 - Cornish Arms (Set 1 - Thursday 4pm)

We're delighted to be announcing the start of not one, but two new experimental series (Well, everything's an experiment round here, innit?).

This is the first episode of "The Golden Hour", a one-hour (see what we did there?) DJ mix that will accompany our new radio-show / podcast-style thing over on Mixcloud, which is called "The In-Tray" - you can find that here: https://www.mixcloud.com/kleptones/the-in-tray-1-2022-10-27/

"The In-Tray" will be a talky hour of new & recent releases, plenty of which don't really fit into any of the DJ mixes we're doing, but we still wanted to give them a big-up and bring them to your attention.

Accompanying each "In-Tray" episode, following on from the style of the Lockdown Radio mixes, each "Golden Hour" will be a random deep dive into different sections of the DJ box, the first one taking in some slinky psychedelic rock, new turkish funk, a few obscure crate digs and a very spontaneous slice of live mashing between two legends. And then some!

We're hoping to be doing one "pair" of these every couple of weeks, but we'll see how it goes... feedback and comments welcome as always, makes our day, it really does.

DJ Moneyshot is up next holding class again. His latest mix, 'Heavenly Sunday Social at The Albany', is a tribute to the Chemical Brothers' legendary DJ residency at The Albany pub in London. Back in 1994 they were known as the Dust Brothers, and spun an emotional mix of rare Soul, classic Hip-Hop, Acid House and Psych Rock. Not to mention test pressings of their latest Dance/Indie crossover remixes, and fledgling original productions. Moneyshot has scoured discogs, sample-spotted, and dug-up magazines from back-in-the-day to get the inside scoop on the magic of this pre-Big Beat melting pot. It's another headphone history lesson from the Solid Steel selector. Enjoy!

After a lovely 4 date tour of Ireland over St. Patrick's weekend with MC Kwasi, I had to upload one of the gigs! This one was recorded on St. Patrick's eve in Dublin's Button Factory, which I first played in about 15 years ago during the Guiness Blues Festival. The venue is like a bigger version of the Band On The Wall, and also has a fantastic L'Acoustics sound system, so I felt very much at home. MC Kwasi did a fantastic job of getting everyone smiling & dancing, and all the venue staff & crew were really friendly & helpful.
