Sometimes inspiration comes from the strangest of places, and Kley’s “Tayo” is a solid example. Songwriter and guitarist Noah Zuniga says he wrote the song when he was arguing with his landlady back in college. Twist the plot a little, add Deejay Poblete’s rocking vocals, and you have an angst-filled song about someone who’s gotten tired of dealing with a difficult person. The lyric’s sarcasm blended with full-blown musical prowess from the rest of the band makes for one catchy tune that’s relatable to just about anyone. The song starts off as dark and mysterious with a guitar-based intro, goes off into an attitude-filled type of pop, and eventually ventures back into a dark and angry bridge part. “Tayo” ends with a memorable and LSS-inducing “doo-doo-doo-roo-roo…” tune that’ll keep you singing long after the song’s over. -Imee Malabonga
