Patrice Bäumel makes his most welcome return to Kompakt’s Speicher series and it’s exactly as compelling as you expect it to be. “Luce” is a slenderly pumping piece of minimal soul featuring the otherworldly voice of Chiara Gamo. Once more, Patrice masterfully demonstrates how little elements he needs to create suspense, density and warmth on the floor. “The Cave” follows the same mantra, sucking us into a mystique stalactite cave full of echoing droplets and enchanting whispers. We follow him blindly.

What a start to Selador’s twelfth year. We were delighted when Dilby debuted for us recently with the vocal gem ‘Give It Up Again’ – and we’re doubly delighted to follow it up in double quick time with this essential EP. 

The Berlin-based Kiwi straddles genres effortlessly, and subsequently finds his tunes in the boxes of a wide variety of DJs. This stellar selection will no doubt follow suit. 

We kick things off with ‘Sacred Ground’ a majestic roller with a classic ‘90s feel that hits the spot in all the right places before dropping to a distinctive ‘dread’ vocal. ‘Closer’ then steps up with its rolling percussive intro paving the way for duelling riffs, a real early ‘00s classy heads down vibe for this one. And our titanic triptych is completed by the aforementioned ‘Give It Up Again’, which is more than worthy of another trip round the block as a reminder of its undeniable potency.

SCI+TEC celebrates a pivotal moment in its history with the release of ‘I Feel Speed (2025 Remixes),’ a special project revisiting one of Dubfire’s earliest solo works and one of the label’s foundational releases. Originally released in 2007, Dubfire’s cover of Love and Rockets’ ‘I Feel Speed’ marked a bold venture into uncharted territory, with the Grammy-winning artist taking on vocal duties himself to reimagine the iconic ballad.

This release brings together a stellar list of artists, each offering a distinctive interpretation of the classic. SNYL, whose admiration for the original track sparked the project, delivers a rework that strikes a balance between reverence and reinvention.

Josh Baker started his musical adventure with DnB from a young age, but at 16 he was totally shocked by house music. His passion and dedication led him to play at big gigs including Parklife, Warehouse Project and his own "You&Me" event brand in his native Manchester. Josh is also a successful producer and 2017 was his best year to date, appearing on Rich Nxt’s imprint “What Nxt” with his track “Frustrated” which was also played big the giants of Apollonia and many others. We just can’t wait to see what the future awaits to this groovy housy guy… let’s see!
