Weichhold & Namito - A Little Bit Exotique

In AEON007D, Denis Horvat steps up to proudly carry the AEON torch with his EP ‘My Body’.
They say good things come in threes, and this is certainly no exception. Having previously released on Noir Music, Upon You, Get Physical and Souvenir, the Danish producer has already been recognised for his talents, and this three-tracker continues to exhibit them at their best.
With ‘Prompt’ a steady beat is interrupted by dark pads commanding the track and heaving you into its deliciously sinister core. As the track’s roots grow darker and deeper, don’t be surprised to find yourself putting the track on loop and replaying the story.

‘Phrased’ takes a more minimal approach yet by no means a less effective one – a percussive progression builds before being joined by effortlessly strident staccato, this track simply gets better the more time you give it – and as a true grower not a shower, you can expect it to stick with you long after the last heady shakes of the maracas.

The aptly-named title track ‘My Body’ is certainly sure to fill a dance floor. An enticing taste of what’s to come. Atmospheric synths ebb in and out of a rolling bassline, accompanied by a low gravelly vocal.

Through this EP, it’s evident that Horvat is giving a nostalgic nod to the various genres of music that lured him into production in the first place – fitting really, for a label with the same intention in mind – this EP is a true tribute to quality music, with slick percussion instead of pretention.

René Bourgeois goes back to the roots.

The philosophy of René Bourgeois is to keep the view always forward. Music flows through his veins. That is also reflected, on his new tracks on the upcoming „direction of running“ EP. The in Dresden-born tying in with his first supdub-hit „4 my recordz“, and shows that he still keeps on his roots, but also can developed himself continuously. Friends and companions refine his musical ideas and give the tracks their own individual touch.

Die Philosophie von René Bourgeois, immer den Blick nach vorne zu richten und Musik durch die Adern fließen zu lassen, spiegelt sich auch in seinen neuen Tracks, „everyone face in one direction“ und „running through my veins”, der bevorstehenden EP. Der gebürtige Dresdner knüpft dadurch an seinen ersten supdub Hit “ 4 my Recordz” an und zeigt getreu dem Motto „Back to the roots“, dass er seine Wurzeln beibehält und sich dabei trotzdem stetig weiterentwickelt. Freunde und Wegbegleiter wie Andreas Henneberg und Hermanez veredeln seine musikalischen Gedankengänge und verleihen den Tracks ihre eigene individuelle Note.

We think you'll agree that this is an outstanding group of talent to collaborate on some music and the proof is in the pudding, as they say.

John Digweed, Nick Muir and Franky Wah have turned out two fantastic tracks that have so far gone down a storm from London to Ibiza where they road tested fresh out of the studio and they definitely did some damage which is hardly surprising considering the calibre of the names involved. Large.

Fresh from excursions on Gruuv and New Violence, Glaswegian Dalfie returns to Catz ‘N Dogz Pets with three more marching orders. Please stand to attention:
‘Outlaw’ sets the tone with a slinky synth bass groove, a shadow-creeping ambience and a neat sense of momentum that takes you unaware with subtle twists and diversions en route. An ideal opener or transition piece, ‘Outlaw’ whips up an atmosphere like no other.  ‘For It’ adds acidic petrol to the deep, dark fire. Slow-burning with a hip-slinking percussion-tinted groove, it gradually gets darker and darker as we creep further into Dalfie’s 303s. By the time we’re submersed in the breakdown our veins are nothing by circuits and frequencies run through them like blood.
For our final leg of the journey Dalfie leaves us in a brighter mindset with ‘Right Up’. Taking cues from both mid 90s Chicago and late 90s Paris, there’s an unquenchable funk woven deep into the filtered samples, pushing beats, carnivalian percussion and the lolloping bassline. Twisted in places, fluctuating in others, seriously vibrant throughout, this is a precision intersection of house, techno and disco all rolled into one seriously vibed-out party piece. Don’t be a stranger!
