Although the two are geographically very far apart, Silent Servant based in Los Angeles, US and Broken English Club based in London, UK, the two share a similar outlook and musical approach. Both projects have been on the rise lately, and stem from a strongly rooted techno background. Combining their influences of dance music, techno, EBM, industrial and post-punk, Silent Servant and Broken English Club offer a new breed of EBM infused techno wave on the Violence And Divinity EP. They artfully create music that works both on and off the dance floor, infusing a dark atmospheric mood with addictive, pulsating rhythms. Themes of love, death, modernity and automobile crashes appear throughout this EP from the music itself right through to the cover art and one of a kind vinyl pressing. Dans la continuité des sorties Digital Mutant Series, et sous la simple bannière Tripalium Records, ce nouveau label mettra en avant sur support vinyl des projets qui explorent les tréfonds de la techno post-moderne à grands renforts de sonorités industrielles, EBM et expérimentales.

C'est le toulousain Verset Zero qui ouvre cette nouvelle série avec Consilium, un LP sombre aux sonorités noise. Dans la continuité de ses sorties précédentes, il plonge encore plus loin dans ses influences venant du « Black Metal Inner Circle ». On y retrouvera donc les sonorités industrielles qui lui sont chères, ainsi que des ambiances empruntées à la musique païenne, des guitares basse saturées, des voix gutturales et une atmosphère particulièrement obscure. Les morceaux originaux s’accompagnent de trois remixes signés Blush Response, Violet Poison et Huren.

Blacksilk proudly announces its third release, the second on vinyl, reissuing a selection of tracks from DsorDNE, experimental electronic band active in Turin during the 80’s and early 90’s. Thanks to the proactive and collaborative spirit of Marco Milanesio, band’s founder and author of most of the songs, deserved and proper attention is finally given to three stunning original masterpieces of dusky, heavily post-punk influenced tracks veined with some sort of industrial aftertaste. These songs have been selected from a span of works, mostly autoproduced, that DsorDNE released in the years of activity on various labels (primarily the related HAX Records) or fanzines of the thriving Italian underground scene of the time, which provided the perfect environment to experiment while representing the dull, grey and nihilist reality of the already post-industrial Turin of the mid-80’s.
“Tristi di Rabbia” (Sad of Anger), title taken from the almost madrigalic song opening the record, is completed with the electronic punk of “Love is my Eversion” (that will meet the taste of fans of SPK et similia) and “Guardami”, melodic slow industrial gem.
On the B side are featured two contemporary reworks of other original songs: “Aria” remixed by Phase Fatale, gloomy dancefloor-friendly track that emphasises the vocal abstract games of the original bringing the song to a new rhythmic dimension. and “Rimani”, remixed by the emerging artist Unhuman, who deconstructs the dark ballad achieving the result of a brilliantly crafted lo-fi EBM banger.
The artwork is curated by Silent Servant, that visually caged a picture from an unnamed Orthodox icon taken at the National Museum of Art in Bucharest reprocessing it in his own distinctive macabre-surrealist style, already appreciated in the numerous visual works for the Jealous God’s catalogue and still delivering the shock of the new.

The 6 track EP maps their relationship over the last few years with four new tracks and two remixes. Ranging from taught, neurotic pop and EBM to bristling ambient landscapes, NEWBODY burns with a kind of pre-dawn energy that is both euphoric and paranoid. "The Techno Wave" was the first single released in 1990 by this famous project created by Jens Lissat and Ramon Zenker (Hardfloor). One of the most well-known tracks of the so called Frankfurt Tekkno scene that invaded Germany during the early 90s. This re-issue includes the original “Castle Mix", the b-side “The Bass is on Fire” and a new killer remix prepared by Ancient Methods who described “The Techno Wave" as "one of the influential tracks that brought me alongside Zoth Ommog and R&S into techno".

The title 'Myth Machine' demonstrates all the richness of meanings that gives us words connected by genitive case: if you want, read it 'The Mythical Machine', or "The Machine Creating Myths".

Ambiguity here plays into our hands. This epic compilation by NEN Records is dedicated to myths as a ways of giving meaning to the suffocating meaningless reality. It is devoted to narratives, coherent or broken, that each of contributors create by their own lives. Perhaps, therefore, the release turned out to be so poly-stylistic, and there is nothing to be surprised at.

And of course, behind all these narratives, lurks the shadow of a huge and hardly perceived Machine, which severely cuts off the plot lines and - arbitrarily, it would seem, draws new ones.

Note: All tracks on the compilation are created on electronic machines of varying complexity, each of which, for sure, has a hidden desire to tell its own machine myth (and you can even distinguish it).

Fractions - Control

Fractions eschew biographical identity in their debut release for Berlin’s FLEISCH records. A potent mix of EBM, techno, breakbeat, electro, acid and horror-soundtrack provides only a title, ‘Control’, S&M leaning artwork that seems to reference Dali’s ‘In Voluptas Mors’ and a one-line manifesto: MAKE DEAD DANCE.

True to these words, established formalities are cast aside as the record
begins without ceremony; barrel-reverb percussion strikes, a hard hitting straight snare and vinyl crackle ambience set the tone; once the 4/4 kick hits, the basis of ‘Control’ is established. The first four tracks explore EBM, new-beat and acid within the 120-125bpm spectrum, horror-sci-fi pads weave between razor sharp arpeggiations, distorted 303 squelch emerges from doomsday sirens and in the vocal sample taken from the title track, a single, ominous voice urges the
listener to ‘control your mind’.

The final two tracks explore more broken, stepping rhythms, the
extended middle section of ‘Celestial’ transitions from pads that wouldn’t sound out of place in Aphex Twin’s ambient works into a cold John Carpenter-esque piano loop; the final track ‘Inhale/Exhale’ picks up the tempo but focuses on a slowly building frenzy of percussion and arpeggiation, with a snare drum that gradually gathers intensity as the track progresses, tying the swarming rhythm together and closing the record with the anticipation of a drop that never
manifests.

For a debut EP, Fraction’s ‘Control’ shows a markedly developed voice in tying together genres under a haze of dance-floor gloom.
