After a successful 2015, Of The Trees returns for his third release on Gravitas Music and his first full length album, “Dream Atlas”. The New England native stays true to his style; effortlessly, he weaves together pure, strong compositions with subtle complexities throughout the free LP. Memorable melodies and familiar hip-hop rhythms mesh perfectly to create these 9 tracks, which feature collaborations with Esseks, The OriGinALz, and The Digital Connection, plus remixes from CloZee and Perkualt0r. 

The title track establishes a charming vibe as the start of the album, with delicate melody and a pleasing sampled atmosphere. Esseks lends his trademark wonky approach to “Business Tripping”, melting the two producer’s distinct stylings as one. Setting the bar for the most hype track on the album, “Kick Back” rumbles hard with it’s filtered alien babbling and intelligent beat structure. “Panama” tickles the ear with both intricate and smooth ingredients, while the inherently psychedelic “Puddled” playfully exhibits experimental ideas mingled atop heavy bass. CloZee’s remix of Dream Atlas showcases her graceful, international aesthetic which fits perfectly with the gentle harmony of the original. The seductive and smooth 6AM takes the mood down a notch, providing a bit of breathing room before Perkulat0r’s remix rounds out the album with a minimal yet luscious Trap affair.

From a dimly lit cave in Austin's own underground, Joseph Roberts, aka “Detox Unit”, has been cooking up his own blend of futuristic frequencies for the past 4 years. His aim, to make the imagination run wild; to tickle the brain in impossible ways. Originally hailing from New York, Joseph spent his childhood tinkering with old radios and building computers, fascinated bu the near endless possibilities that they presented. Inspired by artists such as Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Monolake, and Luke Vibert, he picked up a copy of Ableton Live and a myriad of synthesizers and hasn't left his cave since. Now 4 years later Detox Unit has become a familiar and loved name in the Austin experimental music scene known for his intricately woven sets and unique productions.
