Para el tercer episodio sobre el fin del mundo, e inspirado por una etnografía del hongo Matsutake, este íntimo mixtape de Ritornelo (@delritornelo) nos envuelve como un arrullo cariñoso y ligero que lentamente va encapsulando nuestra atención para apuntarla hacia un panorama de memorias orgánicas y culturales. Un panorama en cuyos ecos y reverberaciones distinguimos un llamado unívoco: a no dejarnos tumbar por la adversidad.

Su mixtape nos adentra en la red que existe entre todas las cosas, y nos permite conocer un ritmo en el cual cualquier final exige la reconfiguración intricada de otro mundo posible. Es en esta misma red de interdependencia donde dormita el optimismo, como dice Ritornelo: “aunque el panorama parezca desolador, hay que hacer las paces con la entropía y florecer de las ruinas”. Habiéndonos dejado llevar en este flujo de ambient y downtempo, descubrimos nuestra resiliencia en un paisaje introspectivo tejido por manos hábiles y pacientes.  

Para contextualizar y expandir sobre su mixtape, Ritornelo nos compartió las siguientes palabras:

"De alguna manera, todos los días son como el fin del mundo. Mantener la estabilidad en sus múltiples dimensiones y lograr bienestar no son tareas sencillas. Constantemente se pone a prueba lo adquirido, aprendido y soñado. Y aún así, aunque el panorama parezca desolador, hay que hacer las paces con la entropía y florecer de las ruinas. Crear territorios y comunidades a partir del desorden que está alrededor. 
 
Es grato participar en esta entrega de Ondanza por dos razones:
 
1) La conexión entre mi interpretación del fin del (los) mundo(s), con mi nombre artístico de Ritornelo (un concepto muy bello de Deleuze y Guattari). Esta conexión me ha permitido comprender los cambios indeseados y la aparente decadencia de una forma más llevadera y hasta provechosa. Además, se conecta con uno de los trabajos antropológicos más inspiradores que he leído, The Mushroom at the End of the World de Anna Tsing, una etnografía sobre el matsutake, las comunidades que lo recolectan y el mercado en el que se vende.

El matsutake es un hongo muy codiciado que crece únicamente en bosques previamente deforestados y alterados, donde pareciera que la vida no puede volver a surgir. A pesar de eso, el matsutake se abre paso y devuelve fertilidad en el suelo para que crezcan nuevamente árboles. Quienes recolectan el matsutake son principalmente migrantes precarizados que venden el hongo en una economía informal y hacen de este su modo de subsistencia.
 
A grandes rasgos, el caso del matsutake nos lleva a pensar en las alternativas de habitar el planeta mediante una “interdependencia multiespecie”, quizás en aras de salir del sistema hegemónico que nos condiciona al hacernos creer que la única vía aceptable es el progreso capitalista—lo cual al final, es la causa de nuestra sensación de fin del mundo.
 
2) En el set seleccioné y mezclé temas de ambient y downtempo que han sido catárticos para mí en diferentes momentos de mi vida. Son 30 piezas contemplativas a las que he regresado múltiples veces cuando las necesito, y las cuales me han facilitado comprender los cambios. Creo que este es el set más íntimo que he grabado por el significado de cada uno de los temas. Algunos se remontan a tiempos de adolescencia, otros a apenas hace unas semanas. Son fragmentos de pocos segundos que condensan la esencia de canciones mucho más largas, o temas en su duración completa. Puede ser una mezcla apropiada para una tarde a solas, con disposición de sentir y reflexionar a partir de un diálogo interno y del autoconocimiento.
