This is a recording of the original arrangement of the christmas song "Stille Nacht" (silent night, noche de paz etc) which was texted in 1816 and composed in 1818. If you are interested in the historical facts, please visit http://www.stillenacht.at/en/ . Christmas in the alpine and pre-alpine regions of Austria and Germany is not a lush and glitzy thing, it is far more introvert, sparse and humble, turning to values like silence, family, comfort, warmth and good company. Of course it helps if you´re snowed in...
