Are We All Alone or Just Overwhelmed?

Blazej Malinowski joins forces with Neel, Claudio PRC, Milena Glowacka and Svreca for a collaborative EP via his own Inner Tension imprint this May.

Over the past decade, Poland-born now Berlin-based producer, DJ Blazej Malinowski has been deliver his twist on Techno via imprint such as Semantica, Kvalia, TGP, 012 and of course his own Inner Tension label where he returns here with a new collaborative EP. The idea behind the record was to merge Blazej with artists he has close connections to and create music that would capture the moment in time at which it was made, based on pure emotion and without limitation. The resultant ‘Are We All Alone or Just Overwhelmed?’ EP is testament to Blazej’s inherent connection to Techno.

Up first on the package is ‘Time Is Relative’, a collaboration with Italian DJ, producer and engineer Neel which meanders through an amalgamation of intricately intertwined synth leads, robust percussion, and a grinding low- end drive. ‘Riddle’ with Claudio PRC follows and wanders into deeper territories via ethereal, billowing textures, metallic chimes and resonant synth flutters floating atop a circling bass groove and crisp drums.

On the flip-side Milena Glowacka joins Blazej for ‘Equal’, a subtly unfurling composition laid out across seven minutes with bubbling tones, dynamic percussive elements and a pulsating low-end. ‘Coincidence’, composed with Svreca then rounds out the release, a murky journey through haunting atmospherics, bumpy off-kilter drums, and eerie percussive fills.

Aupa! Mi nombre es Iker, hago musica como Judy.

Esta es mi tercera temporada conociendo a Phase y mi segunda como residente, lo que me pone muy contento. Si sois habituales me habreis visto haciendo cosas con las maquinas (solo o con R010) o bailando en la pista, y como es la segunda temporada de residente, para agradecer la confianza que han depositado en mi los chavales, prometo traer el doble de baile y de sonidos interdimensionales (certificado ante notario).

Este verano no he pisado una playa pero he descubierto unas galaxias todavía desconocidas dentro de mis cacharros, en las que he encontrado cosas muy raras que tengo muchas ganas de enseñar.

Para esta ocasion especial, vamos con dos tazas de live. Aqui os lo dejo, para cuando tengais 8 horas muertas, la grabación de mi directo para Suburban Alliance el pasado mes de Mayo.

Por si a algun friki como yo le interesa, info extra acerca de este live. Para este set empecé desde el primer proyecto con el que vine a Madrid hasta llegar a las secuencias más nuevas. Las primeras 2 horas tienen partes de unas grabaciones que hice para mi TFM, mezcladas con improvisacion con la Swarm, las siguientes 3 horas aproximadamente son parte del live de 2020-2021 con retoques que hice las semanas previas, y las horas restantes son parte del live de la temporada pasada. Normalmente entre fecha y fecha he hecho muchas secuencias nuevas, asi que para el final de la temporada el proyecto queda bastante extenso.

Es el live mas especial que he hecho, y la verdad es que aunque terminé agotado, la sensacion de poder hacer lo que quisiera sin preocupaciones fue una pasada, así que mas pronto que tarde espero poder repetir este formato, os esperare a todas alli entonces!

Wrocław based DJ, producer and promoter. Half of the SOLARPUNK DJ duo and member of the RAVE/TEK event series, which focuses on the popularization of futuristic sounds in electronica. Musically, he tries to reach for new solutions, blending different subgenres of electronic music into a wider ensemble. Donija oscillates between highly technological breakbeat, bass, electro, hyper pop, grime, dub, and wet, psychedelic idmish techno, all sprinkled with a noticeable UK influence. While his music career might be relatively short, he already had the opportunity to perform in many clubs in the country and he recently recorded a podcast for the legendary Rinse FM at the invitation of KETTAMA. As a producer, he has debuted on the "Peace Tomorrow" V/A compilation, contributing among some of the first class Ukrainian and Polish producers.

This EP was produced with the intention of representing a hunt in its most instinctive aspect, a return to nature, to the animal, to the bestial. As a result, the sounds are extremely organic, plunging us into the heart of life and death.
