BPitch welcome back one of Croatia’s most beloved electronic music exports, Insolate, with five uplifting grooves.
With a career spanning over twenty years - traversing from illegal underground raves in late ‘90s Croatia to hypnotising dancefloors the world over - she’s contributed considerably to the international scene as a producer, DJ, label head and more. 
Known as a producer for releases on a range of highly acclaimed imprints, her new EP for BPitch follows an appearance on the We Are Not Alone compilation back in 2020.. 
Utilising a vast range of hardware and software, and drawing upon influences accrued over decades of passion for non-conformist electronic music, Insolate’s strain of groove-driven techno is radiant, warm, and carefully balanced.
With a learned ear for the most powerful minutiae of sound design, Insolate crafts each production with a careful emotional sensibility. 
As the title suggests, there’s a strong belief in hope underpinning her music, and this EP is one of her strongest documentations of that feeling to date.

M.F.S: Observatory is Italian Mattia Turchetti, and for around a decade now, he has been exploring all facets of techno. Not only has it come on this label but also on the likes of Dense & Pika's Kneaded Pains, Second State and Techno Rebels Only. Each and every time, he switches things up and dips into new creative worlds while also retaining a core sense of signature groove.

Opener 'Z1' is a potent techno banger with hard-hitting drum funk and pounding basslines. Chopped-up and dehumanized vocals are looped in up top for extra unruliness. 'Z2' is another superb showcase of M.F.S: Observatory's ability to program essential drums. They're peppered with coarse synths and linear bass that never lets up. 'Z3' keeps the pressure up with unrelenting 909 kicks, this time overlaid with spangled synth lines that are loose and unhinged, much like the twisted vocal sounds that also peel off the hypnotic groove. 'Z4' is another no-frills and top-quality techno track with more menacing leads that are frazzled and edgy as the hefty drums rumble on, and last of all is 'Z5', a fantastic and high-impact closer that brings broken beat patterns and synths with a sense of hope.

Reclaim Your City unveils second compilation, ‘Heimat II’, featuring Arkan, Decka, Yant & Hitam.

April 2023 saw Dutch techno powerhouse Reclaim Your City debut its ‘Heimat’ compilation featuring Marcal, Nicolas Volger, Hurdslenk and Ruben Ganev. Now, the label returns with the second instalment to a new series of compilations with ‘Heimat II’, welcoming Arkan, Decka, Yant, and Hitam for the first time.
“Zeitgeisty by nature, the approach chosen for these VAs is to document state-of-the-art productions from lesser-known and emerging figures whose skills and talent we firmly believe in. An extension of our creed that techno is there to push boundaries and not reiterate the same bland assertions over and over, ad nauseam, “Heimat” shall form a shelter for top-of-the-range material and that exclusively, regardless of the producer’s fame, level of fashionability and/or market-friendliness.” - Reclaim Your City

Hypnotic techno mastermind Arkan is up first with the haze-like ‘Submarine’, in which cavernous sonar pings echo through vast aquatic depths, the track’s steady rhythm propelling forward. ‘Circumvent’ by SPE:C’s Decka is next, this time with a slower groove juxtaposed with fast-paced, liquid-like acid bubbling through its tough drum work.

On the B-side, the deservedly hyped Yant presents ‘Moving’. Its machine-funk of the highest order with elements rooted in dub, sequences dancing playfully on top of an intricate groove before Eerste Communie resident Hitam takes the reins with ‘Venusian Wind’. Glitching drums carve their way through monstrous droning low-end, its rolling soundscape creating a perfect, enthralling finish to another quality compilation from the RYC crew.

Border One’s fourth contribution to Token Records is an ode to the cosmic, an ever-present theme in the Belgian’s acclaimed career. 

With ‘Astral Plane’, we are introduced to more extroverted sequences. Boomy through fluctuating synth lines and stomping claps, the seasoned producer uses the size of his design in the low end to justify a more erratic arrangement. Spread noise in the background interweaves with confronting synth work, making ‘Astral Plane’ impressive in weight without losing the intricate quality that its producer is known for.
