Troma & PERS1 return to Canadian imprint Aquaregia Records this June with four melodic techno cuts entitled ‘Kaede’ EP.
Troma & PERS1 began their creative journey in the small seaside town of Granville in northwestern France. As conveyed through their raw acid compositions, the impeccable chemistry of the duo stems from their close relationship as brothers growing up in the tight-knit commune. Drawing inspiration from the beauty of the sea fringed by the rocky landscapes of the Normandy coast, their music is a crafted concoction of hypnotic sounds, bold melodies, and breath-taking basslines. Troma & PERS1’s productions and live-sets alike seek to hypnotize with a balance between consciousness and delirium, light and darkness in their evocative creations. Their ‘Kaede’ EP sees the duo team back up with the Aquaregia family following their three previous releases on the label over the last few years.
Troma & PERS1 explore a range of styles on this EP, from hypnotic techno to breakbeat, all with the common thread of acid. Title track ‘Kaede’ kicks off the EP with gentle synth flutters, graceful melodies and echoing drums before ‘Samara’ continues with euphoric 303s, cinematic pads that sit harmoniously underneath the resounding kick drums.
On the flip, ‘Crimson Breath’ lays focus on hypnotic soundscapes, dreamy chord progression, and blissful moods that captivate you effortlessly until ‘Autumn Moon’ delivers arpeggiating modulations, emotional hooks and breezy fx with heavenly undertones. The EP is accompanied by a breaky 808 version of ‘Autumn Moon’ with icy high-hats and angelic leads.

Trancy Groovy Basseline for dynamic and big dark percs for the energy.
Matière noire is darkest. Deep Fat Kick & rumble with great Loudness to keep a dark spirit (Matière Noire in English = Dark Matter).
Using hypnotic synth and evolutives melodies. You clearly can feel the deepness of this track. Really love it."

Unlighted is a DJ and Producer from Buenos Aires, Argentina. His love for electronic music comes through the influence of artists such as Julian Jeweil, Metodi Hristov, and Martin Kinrus. At the age of 12 he began to venture into the world of djing only using a computer. His musical style is characterized by finding minimalist and electric sounds together with Techno, fused with trance vibes and characteristics of Dubstep.

Justus Reim is from Germany, and gained experience in making music, after growing up with many musical influences like playing piano, guitar and the drums. He decided to start his techno project in 2019, after spending much time listening to techno and visiting clubs. Searching an own sound, his productions are now characterized by strong kicks, simple melodies and heavy saw basses.

Unlighted has released a remix with us last year, and now comes together with Justus Reim, for a banger EP. Enjoy.

'Acclaimed Dutch duo Hush & Sleep have unveiled their new EP ‘Enochian’, marking the tenth release on Ilario Alicante’s Virgo imprint, out 4th March.

Comprised of Tom Tonnard and Frankie Decicco, ‘Enochian’ marks Hush & Sleep’s second release on Virgo, following 2018’s ‘Where Hope Is Lost’. Looking ahead, they perform at Rotterdam Rave By Day at the end of March before supporting Adam Beyer in their hometown of Maastricht on 9th April.'

Enochian EP

Avision storms into 2020 in fine fashion with his first EP for Maceo Plex's Ellum Audio label.

Playing the decks since just 12 years of age, this American artist grew up in the musically rich New York City scene and is now at the sharp end of it with his own new school techno sound. He has released on key labels like Ben Sims’ Hardgroove, Mark Broom’s Beardman and Teksupport, and is someone that icons like Adam Beyer and Chris Liebing often reach for in their own sets.

He starts off his latest offering with 'Innocence', a bustling techno track with bulky drum programming that is brilliantly loose. It jostles you into action as dark vocals add intensity and makes for a perfectly physical dance floor workout.

Keeping up the pressure is 'Time Lapse', with big hi hats and a driving bassline all interwoven with thundering kick drums that will get the whole club up on its toes. A rising synth in the background adds an air of cosmic exploration and means this tasteful techno trip is enthralling from start to finish.

These are two superbly stylish and high powered techno cuts from this contemporary tastemaker.
