Huge thanks to White Ocean for making one of my dreams a reality. This year was my very first Burn… And if you met me on the playa, you know how much fun I had! For those who know me well, this experience was really powerful. I discovered a new part of myself, artistically and socially. And this set at White Ocean was very special. I was supposed to play a 3 hours live set but for many reasons I wasn’t able to do so…  So I improvised a kind of hybrid set remixing and editing some tracks in live. I had never done such a thing before and it was totally insane! Right after I started a big dust storm hit the playa and we couldn't see a thing but it was unbelievable! So epic! The crowd was insane! It probably was the craziest set in my entire life! I will never forget this one. There is so much to say… Just be there.

Passend zu ihrem Programm für die Kranich Eröffnung (Derya Yildirim & Group Simsek Live) hat das DJ Duo Spatz Habibi einen Podcast voll handverlesener Raritäten aufgenommen - der Kranich breitet die Schwingen aus und segelt in die Ferne – wir wandeln mit halbgeschlossenen Augen zwischen Wettbüros und Dönerbuden und träumen uns in den Orient.

Rolandson is Magician On Duty and process his thoughts & feelings about current influences on the basis of the political and social occurrences into that »Music has a Message« - Mix.

He is a traveler not a tourist. this traveler of tunes began his voyage in the mid 90s and has since explored the depths of 90s Berlin dub & techno, the electro swing revival in Paris/ France and Brighton/ England, downtempo and indigenous sounds from all over the world during his travels and discovering many more musical impulses that have shaped his life along the years. So in this his selections are always a highly curated combination of unique tracks that are timeless and that overcome the boundaries of genre, country, or context. 

When he’s not behind the decks, he’s the driving force behind his label and podcast series “Seasidetrip”, which he started in 2012 after recording a mix at sea. Since the first Seasidetrip mix, many artists have have interpreted their love and longing for the sea in their own mixes, contributing to the growth of this wonderful project which has not only touched the hearts of its listeners, but also led to many friendships and inspiring collaborations with other artists along the way.

Die Luft schon leicht am Flirren, geht die Reise im Gleitflug über die dächernen Inseln des Neuköllner Mittelmeers. Zur kulturellen Aufklärung sei erwähnt: der Balearic Dance ist ein Genre das sich Ende der 80er höchster Beliebtheit, vor allem auf den balearischen Inseln, erfreute. Ein wahres Freudenfest an langsamen Grooves, dichten Flächen und tribalistischen Rhythmen. Fog Puma zeigt mit einem weiten Bogen die Entwicklung dieses Post Disco Genres zwischen Synthieflächen und kosmischen Beats, bis hin zu feinsten Italo Grooves. Unsere Podcast-Reihe startet in die Off-Saison und lädt mit „Gottlieb Scheppert“ zum eifrigen Pilzesammeln über den Dächern Neuköllns: Der Berliner Down-Tech-Produzent sorgte zuletzt mit seiner „Zahar EP“ auf dem Label „Metanoia“ für großes Aufhorchen in der Szene und bringt mit seinen verschwurbelt-niedertempoiden Sets reihenweise deren Frontallappen zum scheppern. Mit einer geradezu unverschämten Brett-Dichte fegt er dem Kranich selbst mit angezogener Handbremse die Ziegel vom Kopf und manövriert dabei gekonnt zwischen psychedelischer Electronica, 90er-Nostalgie und absoluter Peaktime-Extase. Wir verbleiben voller Floorfreude auf die Clubsaison und freuen uns vor allem darauf, „Gottlieb Scheppert“ wieder live auf dem Klunkerkranich begrüßen zu dürfen.

Unsere „Auf zu Neuen Dächern“ Reihe wird heute glatte 20 Lenzen alt und der Kranich damit buchstäblich zum alten Hasen. Umso mehr freuen wir uns, dass unser Podcast-Jubiläum der Plattenkiste von „Elias Doré“ entspringt: Der gebürtige Berliner sammelte zahlreiche Erfahrungen in Bands diverser Genres von Afro-Funk über Klezmer bis hin zu Reggae und Soul, bevor er sich vor nicht allzu langer Zeit vollends der elektronischen Musik hingegeben hat. Mit dem Kurswechsel ist er sich dabei insofern treu geblieben, als dass seine Musik keine Spur der Wärme vermissen lässt, die er regelmäßig auf die Bühne gebracht hat: Seine Sets sind geprägt von der Liebe zu organischen Klängen und geradezu verspielten Melodien, die bereits die ein oder andere glückselige Floor-Umarmung zu verbuchen haben. Eine Direktinjektion Serotonin pur gegen die herbstliche Trübe – wir wünschen euch viel Spaß und freuen uns, „Elias Doré“ bald wieder auf dem Dach begrüßen zu dürfen.

Wir freuen uns sehr dieses wunderschöne Weihnachtsgeschenk machen zu können! Wir sind selbst ganz aus dem Häuschen, denn den Abschluss der diesjährigen Podcast-Reihe „Auf Zu Neuen Dächern“ macht das Duo „Xique-Xique“ aus Sao Paulo, Brasilien.

Inspiriert und auch beinflusst durch das Voodoohop-Kollektiv steht das Slow-Projekt von Dunwich & Biba Graeff für die brodelnde Alternativ-Szene Sao Paulo’s.
Hypnotische Melodien, organische Rhythmen und Deep-Grooves bestimmen das Set, dass uns von Xique-Xique hier zu Weihnachten geschenkt wird. Die Produktionen des Duo’s wurden unter Anderen von „Nicola Cruz“ geremixt und Ihre Veröffentlichungen erscheinen zumeist auf dem Label „The Magic Movement“.

Wir sagen Danke! An Xique-Xique, aber auch euch. Für dieses wunderschöne Jahr 2017.
