Kashly Lyles who performs as K. Lyles aka G5, was born in Clinton, South Carolina, on June 2, 1992. At the age of 8, life changing events lead her to poetry. She wrote poetry for years, especially through tough challenges as a teenager. In 2005 an accidental shooting death of a friend, Antonio Coleman “Moot” drew her to the microphone; where she put her poetry to music in tribute to him.
