DEJA VU 🌀 • when I first wrote this song I was struggling a lot mentally. I hated the position I was in, yet I wasn’t willing to do anything to get out of it. This song means so much to me because it has to do with my struggles with depression and suicidal thoughts. The line “give me a bottle of liquor to drown at my liver cause I don’t wanna be alive” was more than true at the time. I was flooding my body with alcohol and all sorts of different substances to ease my pain. When I initially completed the song it felt almost like a letter to my future self telling me not to pull the trigger and that I had much to live for. When I took a break from dropping music it molded my mind in a way that was super unhealthy. I would just sit on my ass doing nothing for hours at a time, sometimes even entire days. It was no way to live and as my infatuation with death grew stronger by the day, so did my intrusive thoughts. It took a lot of suffering and time to get over this morbid feeling. I had to relearn how to be a normal human and how to live my life to its full potential. Months would go by and I would find myself cycling nonstop through the same thoughts and emotions till I finally said it was time to do something different. Gradually, I started to work on myself in hopes of recouping the passionate mentality that I once possessed as an artist. Once I got my life back on track I was rewarded by my own mind because the intrusive thoughts had passed. Now, I can happily say I’m healthier than I’ve been in a long time and that feeling grows each and every day. When this song drops on Friday I want you to understand what went into it. Two years of pain and darkness brought me this piece and now I’m excited to share it with the rest of you. I hope you can learn from my misfortune and apply it to your own lives somehow. I want nothing more than to see our entire world thriving and smiling.
